About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production processes, shop-floor operations, process improvement, employee/team handling, and vendor management.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth manufacturing operations by effectively managing production activities, coordinating with employees and vendors, resolving shop-floor issues, and driving productivity, quality, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor day-to-day manufacturing and production activities.
- Lead and effectively manage shop-floor employees, technicians, operators, and other manufacturing personnel.
- Allocate work, monitor employee performance, and ensure timely completion of production activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the manufacturing team and address day-to-day shop-floor issues.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, fabricators, machining suppliers, and other external agencies to ensure timely completion of manufacturing-related activities.
- Manage vendor deliverables, timelines, quality, and adherence to agreed specifications.
- Follow up with vendors on material, fabrication, machining, assembly, and service requirements.
- Evaluate vendor performance and escalate delays, quality issues, or non-conformities wherever required.
- Develop, implement,



and improve manufacturing processes to achieve better productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process sheets, process flow charts, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for cycle-time reduction, waste elimination, productivity improvement, and cost reduction.
- Work closely with Design, Production, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Support NPI, prototype development, production trials, and production ramp-up activities.
- Develop and optimize jigs, fixtures, tooling, and assembly methods to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production and manufacturing-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and standardization.
- Monitor manpower, machine, material, and process utilization and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain proper records and provide regular updates on production, vendor, and manufacturing activities.




- Coordinate with management and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of manufacturing projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production engineering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, machining, assembly, and shop-floor operations.
- Proven ability to lead and manage shop-floor employees and production teams.
- Strong vendor management and coordination skills, with the ability to handle multiple vendors and contractors.
- Valuable understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience in process planning, process optimization, and production problem-solving.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
- Strong people-management, communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and project-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering/manufacturing software.

Preferred Candidates:

- Candidates with experience in machine building, fabrication, automation, equipment manufacturing, or project-based manufacturing.
- Experience in managing technicians, operators, contract manpower, and external vendors.
- Candidates who can join immediately or within 30 days will be preferred.
