Role Description The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer or Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models and solutions to address complex business and technology challenges.

Daily responsibilities include data exploration and preprocessing, feature engineering, model training and evaluation, and integration of models into production systems in collaboration with software engineering teams. The professional in this role will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and create scalable, maintainable AI/ML architectures. The position also includes documenting solution designs, monitoring model performance,



optimizing algorithms, and guiding junior team members or project teams in line with IonIdea’s standards of trust and excellence.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in AI/ML engineering, including experience with supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and model evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML (such as Python or similar), along with knowledge of relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Hands-on experience in data handling, including data collection, cleaning, transformation, feature engineering, and working with structured and unstructured data.
- Ability to design and implement production-ready ML pipelines, APIs, or services, and familiarity with software development best practices, version control, and testing.
- Experience in architecting AI/ML solutions at scale, with exposure to cloud platforms or distributed computing environments considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions and communicate outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, mentor others when in a lead capacity, and uphold high standards of integrity and performance.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant AI/ML certifications or research experience are beneficial.
