Job Summary
- We re looking for a hands-on Lead Mobile Software Engineer (P4) who will help design, build, modernize, and deliver enterprise-grade mobile applications across iOS and Android. This role is focused on building reliable, scalable, secure, and high-performing mobile experiences while applying AI-driven development practices to improve engineering velocity, product quality, and team effectiveness.
- This role is ideal for a senior technologist who:
- Leads meaningful mobile features and workstreams across discovery, design, implementation, launch, and continuous improvement
- Designs and builds cross-platform mobile solutions spanning iOS, Android, and shared mobile components
- Applies AI-driven development practices, AI-assisted engineering tools, and modern mobile workflows to improve delivery speed and product quality
- Makes sound technical decisions that balance native platform quality, cross-platform reuse, performance, security, maintainability, and delivery needs
- Partners effectively with product, design, architecture, backend, security, QA, DevOps/SRE, and business stakeholders to deliver mobile outcomes
- Mentors engineers through code review, implementation guidance, mobile best practices, and hands-on technical support
- You will operate with strong ownership, lead mobile workstreams with limited direction, help shape implementation approaches, support cross-team alignment, and be known as someone who ships high-quality mobile software, unblocks teammates, and drives execution.
What You'll Do
Build, Ship, and Own Mobile Applications
- Write production-quality mobile code regularly across iOS, Android, shared components, and mobile integration layers
- Own and deliver mobile features, platform improvements, and system enhancements end-to-end
- Contribute to modernization of legacy mobile applications by helping move toward modular, maintainable, testable, and scalable mobile architectures
- Help design and evolve mobile foundations, including app architecture, shared components, design systems, offline capabilities, authentication flows, telemetry, and release infrastructure
- Translate product and user requirements into reliable, intuitive, and performant mobile experiences
- Identify mobile technical risks early, including app performance, crash rates, app store constraints, OS fragmentation, security, privacy, offline behavior, and API reliability
- Lead assigned project workstreams, including technical discovery,
solution design, delivery planning, execution tracking, launch readiness, release coordination, and post-launch follow-through
AI-Driven Mobile Development Intelligent Experiences
- Apply AI-driven development practices for mobile engineering, including AI-assisted design, coding, refactoring, test generation, debugging, documentation, and code review workflows
- Help design and implement intelligent mobile experiences that responsibly leverage LLMs, AI services, on-device intelligence, contextual assistance, automation, and personalization where appropriate
- Integrate mobile applications with AI-enabled backend services, APIs, orchestration layers, and data sources
- Evaluate tradeoffs for on-device, edge, or cloud-based intelligence based on latency, privacy, cost, reliability, and user experience
- Follow and help improve guardrails for AI-assisted mobile engineering, including generated-code review standards, testing expectations, security review, privacy controls, and quality gates
- Support validation strategies for AI-powered mobile features, including grounding, structured outputs, user confirmation, fallback states, and telemetry-driven evaluation
- Help implement monitoring and feedback loops for AI-enabled mobile behavior in production
- Ensure AI-enabled mobile capabilities meet security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and user trust requirements
Mobile Technical Leadership Architecture
- Contribute to mobile architecture standards through hands-on implementation
- Guide implementation decisions across native iOS, native Android, cross-platform frameworks, shared components, backend integration, data synchronization, security, and observability
- Make thoughtful tradeoffs between native platform quality, cross-platform reuse, delivery speed, performance, correctness, and maintainability
- Act as a technical escalation point for assigned mobile areas, including performance, memory, battery usage, offline behavior, crash stability, OS compatibility, release quality, and integration reliability
- Influence technical direction within the team and across related mobile workstreams
- Provide technical leadership for assigned projects by coordinating architecture input, engineering execution, dependency management, risk mitigation, mobile release planning, and cross-team alignment
- Communicate clearly with product owners, UX/design, engineering leaders, backend teams, security, DevOps/SRE, QA, support, and business stakeholders to keep delivery aligned with business outcomes
AI-Assisted Mobile Engineering Developer Productivity
- Use AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and mobile-specific automation to accelerate high-quality delivery
- Follow and promote best practices for safe, high-quality AI-assisted mobile coding
- Use AI tools for mobile solution design, architecture analysis, refactoring, test generation, debugging, system comprehension, documentation, and release readiness
- Improve developer productivity through reusable mobile components, shared architecture patterns, CI/CD automation, test automation, build optimization, and platform tooling
- Help the team adopt modern mobile workflows that improve velocity while maintaining engineering rigor, security, accessibility, and release quality
Mentorship Team Elevation
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, architecture discussions, and implementation support
- Help mid-level and senior engineers strengthen mobile engineering practices and ownership
- Coach teammates on modern mobile architecture, cross-platform development, AI-aware engineering practices, quality engineering, observability, and secure development
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, ownership, customer empathy, and technical excellence
- Lead by example with explicit communication, accountability, collaboration, and hands-on technical contribution
Mobile Execution, Quality Operations
- Build and maintain enterprise mobile applications using modern native and/or cross-platform frameworks
- Implement integrations with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, event-driven workflows, identity providers, analytics platforms, and mobile backend services
