Key Responsibilities
Airframe Workscope Analysis
- Develop and review aircraft maintenance workscopes for major maintenance events.
- Analyze historical maintenance workscopes and identify recurring and avoidable tasks.
- Review maintenance task requirements, intervals, thresholds, and escalation opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for workscope optimization and maintenance cost reduction.
- Assess the impact of maintenance findings on aircraft downtime and future maintenance requirements.
- Evaluate opportunities to combine, defer, or optimize maintenance tasks within approved regulatory and maintenance-program requirements.
Aircraft Maintenance Planning
- Analyze aircraft maintenance schedules and upcoming major maintenance events.
- Review A, C and other scheduled maintenance requirements.
- Analyze structural inspections, landing gear, flight controls, fuel systems, ATA chapters and other major airframe maintenance requirements.
- Support long-term maintenance forecasting and aircraft downtime planning.
- Evaluate maintenance capacity and turnaround-time requirements.
Fleet Lifecycle Optimization
- Analyze aircraft age, Flight Hours (FH), Flight Cycles (FC), utilization and maintenance history.
- Assess aircraft remaining useful life and maintenance burden.
- Identify aircraft suitable for continued operation, life extension, storage, lease return, retirement or part-out.
- Develop aircraft lifecycle optimization recommendations.
- Compare maintenance investment requirements against remaining aircraft economic life.
Reliability & Performance Analysis
- Analyze aircraft reliability trends and repetitive defects.
- Review technical delays, cancellations, AOG events and aircraft-related operational disruptions.
- Identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Analyze maintenance cost trends and cost drivers.
- Develop aircraft health and maintenance performance indicators.
Workscope Cost Optimization
- Analyze maintenance event cost drivers.
- Evaluate labor, material, inspection and repair requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost avoidance and maintenance efficiency.
- Support Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for aircraft.
- Develop business cases for major maintenance and lifecycle decisions.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze large aircraft maintenance and utilization datasets.
- Develop fleet health dashboards and maintenance forecasting models.
- Perform trend, variance, scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Translate technical data into actionable management recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports and executive presentations.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Engineering, CAMO, Maintenance, Planning, Reliability, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations teams.
- Work with MRO providers and aircraft OEMs where required.
- Participate in technical workshops and fleet review meetings.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Required Experience
- 8–15+ years of aviation experience, preferably in aircraft engineering, technical services, maintenance planning, CAMO, MRO or fleet management.
- Strong experience in airframe maintenance workscope development and optimization.
- Experience with commercial aircraft maintenance programs.
- Experience analyzing aircraft maintenance records and utilization data.
- Strong understanding of aircraft lifecycle and maintenance cost drivers.
- Experience with major maintenance events and aircraft downtime planning.
