Lead Engineer, Electronic Hardware
:
We at SEDEMAC are on the look-out for a Lead Engineer, Electronic Hardware to join our stellar Electronic Hardware team.
Major Responsibilities:
- The candidate is expected to lead a small team of Hardware engineers working closely with cross functions such as Systems/Software Engineering, Product Validation, Manufacturing, Product Costing etc.
- Single point of contact for cross functional engineering team for product specific hardware development initiatives.
- Defines and manages changes to hardware product requirements.
- Leads product feasibility assessment activities.
- Selection of major components considering competing constraints such as costing, performance, reliability, availability etc.
- Proactively assesses and treats high severity failure modes during the design phase to achieve industry leading product reliability.
- Performs worst case design simulations / calculations &prototype; studies to ensure compliance to requirements.
- Defines and communicates HW-SW,HW-Mechanical interface requirements and constraints.
- Assesses and communicates risks associated with design trade-offs.
- Defines PCB constraints.
- Supports development of manufacturing SOPs, EOL test rigs.
- Defines hardware verification plan & amp; performs V&V; activities.
- Leads design implementation activities working closely with CAD engineers.
- Represents HW team for RCA activities and ensures implementation of CAPA during the complete HW product lifecycle.
- Proactively identifies and implements opportunities to minimize BOM cost and improve product robustness and reliability.
- Technically mentors junior team members.
- Conducts internal product training & sharing of LLBP and technical knowhow.
Technical Skills &Experience;:
- Requirements analysis.
- Product architecture definition, Component selection.
- Design calculation & simulation, Worst Case Analysis, Component derating.
- Thermal analysis, Signal Integrity Analysis.
- Functional/Piece Part FMEA, DRBFM.
- PCB design, DFM, DFT, DFR aspects.
- Usage of lab equipment like DSO/MSO, Function generators, Power supplies etc.
- Failure root cause analysis- 8D, 3x5 Why methodologies.
- Experience in hands-on development of analog/embedded circuits, validation, industrialization, and series maintenance of medium/high complexity products, preferably in Automotive / Transportation / Aerospace or similar industries.
- Hands on experience in reliability prediction, compliance testing is preferable.
- Exposure to development of High Power DC-DC Converters, Motor drives is an added advantage.

- Good judgement and attention to details.
- Good written and verbal communication.
Information on Selection Process:
- The selection process will be multi-phased tests plus interviews.
- There will be a focus on evaluation of the candidate’s understanding of electronic Hardware Design, analytical & logical skills.
Educational Requirement:
- Bachelors / master’s degree in electrical / electronic engineering with at least 60% throughout academics.
Experience:
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
