Role Purpose

NCS is looking for a core L3 Network Specialist to provide advanced network operations, design, implementation and troubleshooting support across enterprise, campus, data centre, wired, wireless and network security environments.

The engineer will be responsible for resolving complex network issues, supporting major changes, improving network reliability and guiding L1/L2 engineers.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 3 network support for complex incidents, escalations, root cause analysis and service restoration.
- Design, implement, operate and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN and data centre network infrastructure.
- Configure, manage and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and load balancers.
- Support routing and switching across enterprise and data centre environments.
- Manage network security components such as ACLs, firewalls, VPN and identity/network access control solutions.
- Monitor network performance, availability, capacity and reliability.
- Plan, assess and implement network changes in line with change management and ITSM processes.
- Support network upgrades, patching, firmware updates and security configuration changes.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configuration records and operational runbooks.
- Work with project teams, Cyber teams and infrastructure teams to deliver secure and resilient network solutions.
- Support proposal work, technical planning and small team leadership where required.




- Mentor L1/L2 engineers and support knowledge transfer.

Required Skills and Experience

- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong L3 experience in network administration, support or operations.
- Solid knowledge of:
- Routing and switching
- Wired and wireless networks
- TCP/IP and network protocols
- Firewalls, VPN, ACLs and network security
- Network monitoring and performance management

- Hands-on experience with enterprise network technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Check Point,Fortinet or similar.
- Experience in at least one or more of the following domains:

- Data centre networking, including Cisco Nexus, NX-OS or ACI technologies
- Enterprise/campus wired and wireless networks
- Network security operations

- Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM processes.
- Solid troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- CCNP or CCIE certification.
- Experience with Meraki, Cisco Nexus 7K/9K, Cisco ACI, Fortinet/Check Point firewalls, Aruba wireless or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or equivalent.
- Experience leading technical teams or acting as technical escalation lead.
