Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced IoT Platform Engineer to join our engineering team and work on an enterprise-grade IoT connectivity platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across IoT data ingestion platforms and REST API services. The platform processes real-time telemetry data from construction and industrial equipment fleets and supports large-scale data ingestion, processing, analytics, and device connectivity.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS, Java, Spring Boot, IoT platforms, event-driven architecture, real-time data processing, and cloud-native microservices.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Development

- Design, architect, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
- Build and implement event-driven architectures using DynamoDB Streams, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Kinesis.
- Develop serverless microservices using AWS Lambda and containerized applications using ECS/Fargate.
- Build RESTful APIs using API Gateway, including authentication, rate limiting, caching, and quota management.
- Work with AWS IoT Core and real-time telemetry/data ingestion platforms.
- Optimize application performance through JVM tuning, connection pooling, query optimization, and infrastructure improvements.
- Design and implement scalable architectures using Microservices, Serverless, CQRS, Stream Processing, and ETL Pipelines.
- Develop and maintain AI, machine learning, analytics, and data-driven capabilities where applicable.

Cloud & Architecture
- Architect solutions across multiple AWS services and repositories.
- Make architectural decisions for hybrid serverless and container-based applications.
- Implement scalable and secure cloud-native architectures.
- Drive system modernization and technical debt reduction.
- Ensure compliance with internal engineering, security, and infrastructure standards.

Monitoring & Production Support
- Implement monitoring, observability, and operational best practices using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, structured logging,



and custom metrics.
- Monitor SLIs, SLOs, business KPIs, and application performance.
- Handle production incidents, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.
- Optimize infrastructure costs and deployment pipelines.

Leadership & Collaboration
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices and coding standards.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, Data Scientists, and external stakeholders.
- Drive technical decision-making and cross-team initiatives.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and PI Planning.
- Provide technical estimates, capacity planning, and risk mitigation.

Required Experience
- 14+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and multi-service cloud architectures.
- 5+ years of experience in technical leadership or lead developer roles.
- 3+ years of experience mentoring or managing engineering teams.
- 2+ years of experience with IoT platforms, telemetry processing, or real-time data systems.
- Proven experience delivering scalable, reliable, and production-grade applications.
