Role Description The Hostel Warden role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai.

The Hostel

Warden is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hostel, including maintaining discipline, ensuring safety and security, and monitoring student attendance and movement. The role involves supervising cleanliness and hygiene, coordinating meals and basic facilities, and addressing student concerns in a timely and supportive manner.

Warden works closely with academic and administrative staff to support student well-being,



organizes or oversees hostel activities, responds to emergencies, and keeps accurate records related to hostel administration.

Qualifications

- Experience in hostel or residential facility management, including supervision of daily operations and basic administration.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills to positively engage with students and staff.
- Ability to maintain discipline while being approachable, fair, and empathetic; commitment to student safety and well-being.
- Organizational and time-management skills for coordinating schedules, facilities, and routine checks.
- Capability to handle emergencies, follow safety protocols, and work calmly under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping, reporting, and communication; familiarity with standard office tools.
- Prior experience in an educational or child/youth-care setting is highly beneficial.
- Minimum of a relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree; fluency in English and local languages is an advantage.
