HEAD – WOTR INSTITUTE FOR TRAINING AND SKILLING
Background
The Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) is an NGO established in the year 1993. It has been working towards water conservation, sustainable agriculture, climate resilience and integrated rural development.WOTR operates pan-India. It has a full fledged training center at Darewadi, Sangamner Taluka, Ahmednagar District, where training is provided in the fields of water management, agriculture and rural development.
This training centre has been in operation since 2001. Considering the profile and credentials of WOTR and the extensive training experience at Darewadi, WOTR has conceived to enlarge the scope of the Darewadi Training Centre and make it a full fledged Institute for Training and Skill Development in the realm of water conservation, sustainable agriculture and integrated rural development. The idea is to run programs and courses which will give Diplomas / Certificates recognized by Government / statutory authorities enabling the beneficiaries to start their own enterprises or enter the job market.

Existing and potential infrastructure
WOTR has a full fledged Training Centre at Darewadi with classrooms, some laboratory facilities, residence facilities and other campus related infrastructure. It also proposes to set up a self-contained institute with infrastructure which will include administrative areas, classrooms, lab facilities, hostel facilities and some residential facilities for staff. The present enquiry primarily relates to visualize and establishing the current campus atPhalane near Pune as an extended centre of the Darewadi campus.
The main expectations from the Head of the Institute will be as follows:
1. To obtain affiliations for the various programs being run or proposed to be run at the centres from affiliating institutions like Agricultural Skill Council of India (ASCI),
Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education and Training, Maharashtra State Skill University, Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skill University and any other affiliating skilling universities/ government organisations all India or in the State of Maharashtra.
2. Decide on the skilling programs in the field of agriculture and related areas, water management, including irrigation management, food processing, agricultural extension services, etc. by obtaining accreditation or approval from the relevant statutory institutions.
3. The above exercise will be a continuous process and can be phased out over a period of time.
4. To plan for the manpower required for the Training Centre and organise the process of recruitment for the same.
5. Plan and obtain regulatory approvals and establish the affiliations for running the courses/programs.
6. Plan and help in creating infrastructure for the training and skilling skilled development centre.
7. To establish the process in place including required manpower for delivering the selected programs for trainees, curriculum, etc.
Qualification and Experience Required for the Incumbent
- The prospective applicant should be Post Graduate preferably with MBA or equivalent degree in Operations, Human Resources or Social Sector Management.
- Hands-on experience of at least 10 years in planning and executing NSDC / Skill Sector Council, etc. programs is desirable.
- Should have experience in establishing or managing training / technical / vocational education centres.
- Experience of affiliation, accreditation and experience in networking with industries particularly in rural sectors will be preferred.
- Experience in CSR-funded skilling projects will be an added advantage.
- Placement experience.
