The role

You will run our design division. You will help bring structure to the division and decide how it works.

Right now the studio's design output runs exclusively through the founder. That has to change. We are hiring the person who takes it over.

Current work includes a 50-key Wyndham-branded hotel in Siliguri, a premium 60-bedroom property in Pelling, hospitality and commercial projects for repeat developer clients, and luxury residential architecture and interior work across North Bengal, Sikkim and Assam.

Your team

You will lead a design team of 10+ and report only to the founder & principal designer. You'll also be fundamentally responsible for growing your team going forwards. An HR executive will be on hand to assist.

Responsibilities

- The full design output of the studio, architecture and interiors, concept through to site
- The structure of the division — how work is divided, who is accountable for what, how a project moves from brief to drawings to site without anything being chased
- Design and drawing standards, SOPs and quality benchmarks: written down, taught, and held to on site
- Cost, hours and time budgets on every project, tracked during design and execution
- Hiring, training and developing the design team as we grow into Guwahati and beyond

- Client meetings — presenting work, explaining decisions, taking ownership

Qualifications

- At least 8 years of working experience in architecture
- At least 3 years at a top-100 architecture firm in India, with real ownership of projects rather than drawing production alone





- Proven experience leading architecture and interior design teams
- Strong hotel and hospitality design experience
- Someone who works to a standard and doesn't let it drop under deadline pressure

- Someone who decides and communicates, without being chased
- Genuine interest in building something in this region. Candidates from the hills and the North East, or with family roots here, are strongly encouraged to apply
