Full Stack Software Engineer (Data Products)

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to help us build innovative products centered around pre- and post-release movie data. In this role, you will bridge the gap between data engineering and user experience. You will be responsible for sourcing massive amounts of entertainment data, managing our data warehouse, and building the frontend interfaces that bring these insights to life.

Key Responsibilities

Data Sourcing & Ingestion: Develop and maintain custom web scrapers using Python, and manage automated scraping workflows using managed platforms like Apify.

Data Warehousing: Design, optimize, and query relational data models to support product features.

Frontend Development: Build responsive, high-performance user interfaces using TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Next.js).

Cloud Infrastructure & Automation: Containerize applications and deploy automated scripts and cron jobs to the cloud.

API Integration: Connect and seamlessly integrate various third-party RESTful APIs to enrich our movie datasets.

Key Skills (Required)

Core Languages: Strong proficiency in Python (for backend logic and data extraction)



and TypeScript (for frontend development).

Frontend Frameworks: Proven experience building scalable applications with up-to-date JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.

Database Management: Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and design efficient data structures.

Cloud Computing: Experience deploying applications and managing services on modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

API Integration: Solid understanding of how to build, consume, and reliably integrate external APIs.

Data Extraction: Hands-on experience with web scraping principles and libraries (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Playwright, Scrapy).

Google Cloud Ecosystem: Direct, hands-on experience with *Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically managing warehouses in **Google BigQuery* and deploying automated jobs via Google Cloud Run.

Scraping Platforms: Prior experience building or utilizing ready-made scrapers on the Apify platform.

Containerization: Familiarity with Docker (highly beneficial for packaging Cloud Run jobs).

Qualifications

- Strong front-end development skills, including proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
- Experience in back-end web development, including building and maintaining APIs, working with databases, and implementing server-side logic.
- Proven capability in full-stack development, integrating front-end and back-end components into robust software solutions.
- Solid foundation in software development principles, including version control, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Relevant experience with modern frameworks and tools (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js, or similar), and relational/non-relational databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, communicate clearly, and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with digital marketing or media platforms is a plus, along with an interest in building tools that support branding and online campaigns.
