Role Description The Environmental Science Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role involves planning and conducting environmental field studies, with a focus on water quality assessment and related ecological indicators. The specialist will design and execute research projects that support GoSharpener’s school programmes, providing scientific input for eco-challenges, curriculum resources, and workshops.

Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and analyzing environmental data,



preparing transparent reports and educational materials, and collaborating with educators and partners to translate scientific findings into practical student activities. The role also includes contributing to impact measurement frameworks and supporting campaigns that promote sustainable practices in schools.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Environmental Science knowledge and experience applying it to real-world sustainability challenges.
- Candidates should possess skills in Field Work and Water Quality assessment, including sampling, monitoring, and basic laboratory or on-site testing procedures.
- Candidates should possess robust Research and Analytical Skills to design studies, interpret data, and present evidence-based recommendations.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-specialist audiences, including students and educators.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with schools, youth programmes, or community-based environmental projects is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and timelines.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks, SDGs, and basic data reporting or dashboard tools is beneficial.
