Sunstripe is looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer – EMT / PSCAD to support advanced grid integration studies for utility-scale BESS, renewable generation, AI Data Centers, Large Loads and Grid-Forming technologies.

Responsibilities
Develop, integrate, and validate PSCAD/EMT models for BESS, wind, solar, transmission networks, and large loads.
Perform EMT studies including FRT, weak-grid performance, transient overvoltage, voltage/frequency response, control stability, and multi-inverter interactions.
Perform Grid-Following and Grid-Forming control studies and troubleshoot complex system behaviour.
Review and integrate OEM PSCAD models and coordinate technical issues with OEMs and clients.
Support Grid Code and interconnection compliance studies.




Prepare high-quality technical reports and independently own EMT study workstreams.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems.
5+ years of power-system studies experience with strong hands-on PSCAD/EMTDC expertise.
Solid understanding of inverter-based resources, converter controls, FRT, grid strength, weak grids, and power-system stability.
Experience with utility-scale BESS and renewable generation preferred.
Experience with Grid-Forming controls, multi-IBR interactions, PSS®E/PowerFactory, RTDS/RSCAD or OPAL-RT is an advantage.
North American ISO/RTO / UK Grid Code/NESO or experience is preferred.
