We're hiring a Buyer - Fruits & Vegetables to own end-to-end sourcing for our client - from farmer identification and onboarding to purchase execution and inward quality control. This is a field-intensive, high-ownership role for someone who understands agri-sourcing and knows how to build farmer relationships that last, not just transactions that close.

You'll develop sourcing strategy for the F&V; category, onboard partners who can support our volume, price, and quality bar, and expand our farmer base area-wise and crop-wise - staying close enough to the ground to catch issues before they become problems.

Exp dealing with Farmers and Vendors for sourcing is a must

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Category Buying: Own procurement for categories such as milk, curd, paneer, cheese, butter, eggs and other fresh/dairy products.
Vendor Management: Identify, onboard and manage dairy processors, farms, distributors and other suppliers.
Negotiation: Negotiate costs, margins, payment terms, MOQ, supply commitments and promotional pricing with vendors.
Category P&L;: Track sales, gross margins, purchase costs, wastage and profitability of the category.




Assortment: Decide which SKUs, brands, pack sizes and price points should be stocked based on consumer demand.
Demand & Availability: Work closely with demand planning and operations teams to ensure high availability and minimal stock-outs.
Freshness & Quality: Particularly significant for fresh/dairy—manage shelf life, expiry, quality standards, temperature-controlled supply and wastage.
Market Intelligence: Track competitor pricing, current launches, consumer trends and emerging suppliers.
Supplier Development: Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers and identify opportunities for better quality, pricing and supply reliability.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone with 4–6 years in agri-sourcing, category buying, or fresh produce procurement, who understands harvest cycles, quality grading, and pricing dynamics, and is ready to travel extensively across districts to get it right.
High ownership, attention to detail and comfort in an early-stage workplace; based in Gurugram or willing to relocate and work from the office.
