Role Description The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems and infrastructure across IIHM facilities, ensuring safe and reliable operations. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting and troubleshooting electrical equipment, overseeing power distribution and backup systems, coordinating preventive maintenance, and supporting upgrades for classrooms, labs, kitchens, and hostel facilities. The role involves collaborating with facility management, vendors,



and contractors to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, local regulations, and energy efficiency goals.

Documentation of electrical layouts, maintenance records, and technical reports will be required, along with participation in planning future campus expansions or renovations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Engineering, Electricity, and foundational electrical principles.
- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Design, including layout planning, load calculations, and system optimization.
- Candidates should possess skills in Power Distribution and Power Systems, with experience in managing campus or building-level electrical networks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and energy-efficient practices in institutional or commercial settings.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Robust problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience in educational, hospitality, or large facility environments is an advantage.
