Position Purpose:

The EHS Compliance & MIS Lead is responsible for driving Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance excellence across Manufacturing and R&D; facilities. This role provides strategic and operational support to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, strengthen EHS governance, and establish robust Management Information Systems (MIS) for monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with site teams, leadership, and regulatory authorities to enhance EHS performance, mitigate risks, promote sustainability initiatives, and ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Sustainability

- Drive environmental stewardship initiatives related to waste management, emissions control, resource conservation, and sustainability.
- Promote responsible environmental practices and support the organization's sustainability agenda.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with applicable Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks including MOEF&CC;, CPCB, SPCB, PESO, Fire NOC, FDA, and other relevant authorities.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on organizational operations.
- Drive timely closure of compliance observations, audits, and regulatory commitments.

Risk Assessment & Compliance Reviews
- Conduct EHS compliance assessments and gap analyses across Manufacturing and R&D; sites.
- Identify compliance risks and partner with site teams to develop mitigation and corrective action plans.




- Support implementation of best practices to sustain regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

EHS Capability Building
- Develop and deliver EHS compliance training programs for EHS teams, functional stakeholders, and site personnel.
- Enhance awareness of regulatory obligations, safety standards, and environmental requirements across the organization.

EHS Data Analytics & MIS Management
- Establish and manage a robust EHS Management Information System (MIS) framework.
- Collect, validate, analyze, and report EHS performance data across sites.
- Develop dashboards, trend analyses, compliance scorecards, and leadership reports.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on EHS performance trends.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key interface between business functions, site teams, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
- Communicate EHS performance, compliance status, and improvement initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement
- Drive EHS excellence initiatives through benchmarking, process optimization, and performance improvement programs.
- Establish measurable goals and monitor progress against organizational EHS objectives.

Technical Expertise




- Knowledge on sustainability rating platforms such as ECOVADIS, CDP, SBTi.
- Provide subject matter expertise on environmental regulations and compliance requirements related to:
- Hazardous Waste Management
- Bio-Medical Waste (BMW)
- E-Waste Management
- Battery Waste Management
- Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)
- Plastic Waste Management
- Environmental Clearances and Consents
- Other applicable regulatory requirements

Project Management

- Lead EHS-related compliance projects and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely implementation of action plans while effectively managing budgets, timelines, and resources.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in Industrial Safety, Environment Management, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or NEBOSH will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 10-15 years of relevant experience in EHS Compliance, Environmental Management, and EHS Governance.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, API, CDMO, Chemical Manufacturing, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences industries preferred.

Preferred Competencies

- Solid understanding of EHS laws, regulations, and statutory compliance frameworks.
- Expertise in EHS data management, analytics, dashboards, and MIS reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive a culture of compliance and safety.
