Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Design Engineer.

The Design

Engineer will develop and refine designs for electrical and mechanical systems, products, and components associated with substation, transmission, electrification, and water infrastructure projects. Daily tasks include creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, performing design calculations, collaborating with project teams to understand technical requirements, and ensuring designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional engineers, supporting project documentation, and providing technical input during project execution and commissioning.





The Design

Engineer will also contribute to design optimization for cost-effectiveness, reliability, and maintainability while maintaining transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Strong Design Engineering skills with experience in product design and system-level design for industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering with the ability to perform basic calculations, select components, and support mechanical layouts.
- Proficiency in Electrical Engineering principles relevant to substations, transmission lines, and power or water infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D and 3D modeling, drafting, and design documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and codes and apply them to design work.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in remote, cross-functional teams.
- Experience in EPC projects, power systems, or water treatment and distribution is an advantage.
- Familiarity with project management practices and the ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a remote environment.
