The selected candidate will contribute to the development of theoretical models, computational tools, and simulation frameworks for advanced fusion-energy systems.
Educational Background
M.Sc./Ph.D. in Physics, Plasma Physics, or a related field.
Robust academic/research background in plasma physics, computational physics, fusion technology, or numerical simulation.
Candidates with demonstrated project/research experience in plasma simulation or computational modeling will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and analyze theoretical and computational models of fusion plasmas.
Work on plasma equilibrium, stability, transport, confinement, heating, and plasma-wall interactions.
Perform numerical studies of fusion-relevant plasma behavior and reactor concepts.
Develop and implement computational models using Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar scientific-computing platforms.
Work with MHD and kinetic plasma models and understand their applicability to different fusion regimes.
Perform neutron, particle, and energy transport calculations relevant to fusion systems.
Analyze simulation results and convert them into meaningful engineering and physics insights.
Support the development and validation of in-house simulation and computational tools.
Carry out literature reviews and reproduce/validate results from research papers and established computational methods.
Contribute to technical reports, research publications, presentations, and intellectual-property development.
Collaborate with experimental, engineering, and reactor-design teams to integrate plasma-physics results into overall system design.
Desired Technical Skills: Candidates should have a solid foundation in:
Plasma Physics
Fusion Physics
Electromagnetism
Fluid Mechanics / Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD)
Numerical Methods
Computational Physics
Differential Equations and Mathematical Modeling
Scientific Programming and Data Analysis
Knowledge of computational techniques such as finite-difference, finite-volume, finite-element, particle-based methods, Monte Carlo methods, or numerical optimization will be an advantage.
Experience with tools such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Mathematica, COMSOL, OpenFOAM, or fusion/plasma simulation codes is desirable.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
