Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Data Architect / Data Governance Architect with 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Cloud Data Platforms, and Data Governance.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Azure and AWS cloud data services, with 5+ years of experience in one cloud platform and 2+ years in the other cloud also considered.

The role will be responsible for designing scalable and secure enterprise data architectures, implementing data governance and security frameworks, defining metadata and lineage practices, and ensuring compliance across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The candidate will work closely with data engineering, platform, security, governance, business, and architecture teams to establish standardized, compliant, cost-effective, and reusable cloud data solutions.

Key Responsibilities1. Cloud Data Architecture

- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data architectures across Azure and AWS.
- Design Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Lakehouse platforms, and real-time data processing architectures.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using PaaS, serverless, managed data services, and automation.
- Define scalable architectures for batch, streaming, ETL/ELT, and API-based data integration.
- Create architecture blueprints, solution designs, data flows, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate existing data platforms and recommend modernization and optimization opportunities.

1. Data Governance

- Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks and standards.
- Establish practices for data ownership, stewardship, classification, metadata management, lineage, and data quality.
- Implement data cataloguing and discovery solutions across cloud data platforms.
- Define governance standards for data ingestion, transformation, storage, consumption, and retention.




- Establish consistent governance controls across multi-tenant and hybrid cloud environments.
- Drive adoption of standardized governance practices across multiple projects and teams.

1. Data Security & Compliance

- Design secure data architectures incorporating security and privacy by design principles.
- Implement RBAC/IAM, least-privilege access, encryption, secrets management, and network security.
- Ensure appropriate protection of sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII).
- Integrate enterprise security and compliance requirements into data architecture.
- Work with security and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements such as:
- GDPR
- HIPAA
- ISO standards
- Data privacy and protection requirements

- Support audit readiness through appropriate documentation, controls, lineage, and evidence.
- Identify data security and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

1. Data Integration & Engineering

- Design and govern ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Design integration solutions using SQL, NoSQL, APIs, streaming platforms, and big data technologies.
- Support real-time/event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms.
- Define standards for data validation, reconciliation, quality, monitoring, and error handling.

1. Modern Data Architecture

Experience or understanding of modern architecture patterns such as:
- Lakehouse Architecture
- Data Mesh
- Data Lake / Data Warehouse
- Event-Driven Architecture
- Serverless Architecture
- Domain-oriented data platforms
- Batch and real-time data processing
- API-driven data integration

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
1. DevOps &

• Infrastructure Automation

- Implement CI/CD practices for cloud data products.
- Work with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent IaC technologies.
- Automate data platform provisioning, deployment, configuration, and governance controls.
- Establish automated quality, security, and compliance checks within deployment pipelines.

1. Stakeholder Management

- Collaborate with business users, demand teams, data engineers, architects, security teams, platform teams, and governance stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and governed technical solutions.
- Communicate complex architecture, security, governance,



and data risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Evangelize data governance and privacy best practices across projects.

Required Technical SkillsMust Have
- 7+ years overall experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Cloud Data, or related roles.
- Robust experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud data platforms.
- 5+ years in one cloud + 2+ years in the other cloud is acceptable.
- Strong experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering.
- Experience designing Data Lakes / Data Warehouses / Lakehouse platforms.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT frameworks and data integration.
- Strong SQL and database knowledge.
- Experience with big data and/or streaming technologies.
- Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality.
- Strong understanding of IAM/RBAC, encryption, access control, and data security.
- Knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
