About the Role :-

We are looking for an experienced Cost Consultant / Cost Manager to join our team and provide cost and commercial management support to an international data center client.

The role will involve working closely with overseas client representatives, project managers, design consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers to ensure projects are delivered with strong cost visibility, commercial discipline and financial control.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on complex, fast-paced projects and is comfortable operating in an international environment with stakeholders across different countries and time zones.

Key Responsibilities:-

Provide end-to-end cost management and commercial support to the client throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare and maintain cost plans, project budgets, estimates and forecasts from concept and design development through construction and close-out.

Review drawings, specifications and project information to identify scope, cost and commercial implications.

Prepare and review quantity take-offs, BOQs, estimates and pricing information.

Review contractor and subcontractor quotations and provide clear commercial recommendations to the client.

Support tendering, procurement and bid evaluation, including preparation of tender comparisons and commercial analysis.

Monitor project expenditure, commitments, forecasts and remaining budgets against approved cost plans.

Prepare clear and concise monthly cost reports and management reports for international client stakeholders.

Identify and monitor cost risks, opportunities, contingencies and potential exposure throughout the project.

Review proposed design changes and assess their impact on project cost and budget.

Manage and evaluate variations, change orders, claims and commercial submissions.

Support value engineering initiatives and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality, programme or operational requirements.





Review contractor payment applications and provide commercial recommendations.

Support commercial negotiations with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

Maintain accurate cost databases and develop benchmarking information for future data center projects.

Support final account settlement, cost reconciliation and project commercial close-out.

Participate in regular meetings and presentations with overseas clients and senior project stakeholders.

Data Center / Mission Critical Experience :-

Experience in Data Center, Mission Critical, Hyperscale, Cloud Infrastructure or other high-reliability facilities is highly desirable.

The candidate should have a good understanding of the major cost drivers associated with data center projects, including:

Electrical infrastructure and distribution systems

MV/LV systems and switchgear

Transformers

Generators and standby power systems

UPS systems

Busduct and power distribution

Cooling systems and HVAC

Chillers and CRAH/CRAC systems

BMS / EPMS

Fire protection and life safety systems

Security and specialist systems

Structured cabling

Building, civil and external works

Utilities and site infrastructure

International Client & Stakeholder Management :-

A key part of the role will be supporting an overseas client, so strong communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential.

You will be expected to:-

Communicate confidently with international stakeholders.

Explain cost and commercial matters in a clear and practical manner.

Prepare professional reports and presentations for senior management.

Work effectively with teams located across different countries and time zones.

Understand client requirements and proactively highlight commercial risks and opportunities.

Build strong working relationships with contractors,



consultants and client representatives.

About You :-

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical cost-management capability with a client-focused and commercially minded approach.

You will ideally have:-

A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Cost Management or a related discipline.

4–5 years of relevant experience in cost consultancy, quantity surveying or commercial management.

Proven experience in pre-contract and post-contract cost management.

Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

Data Center / Mission Critical experience will be a strong advantage.

Previous experience supporting international or overseas clients is preferred.

Strong knowledge of estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost control and change management.

Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.

Advanced MS Excel and strong reporting skills.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.

- Professional qualifications such as MRICS, RICS pathway or equivalent would be an advantage.
