About the role

We are hiring a content writer to help build out Phyllo's blog. You will write blog content that explains our product and how things like APIs and integrations work for our audience, learning the specifics on the job. You'll work closely with our SEO and AEO team and a senior writer on the calendar and editorial workflow. This is a writing seat first, so most of your time goes into producing content, learning new topics quickly, and getting sharper with feedback.

Key responsibilities

- Write blog content that explains our product and related concepts clearly, with editorial support and review
- Learn new topics by reading product documentation, asking questions, and talking to teammates when needed
- Work with the SEO and AEO team to turn briefs, keyword and entity targets, and structure guidelines into published content
- Support the content calendar by hitting drafting deadlines and flagging early if a topic is slipping
- Handle the drafting and revision steps of the content workflow: research, draft, incorporate edits, and prep for publish
- Help with content distribution across communities, social channels, and newsletters
- Assist in gathering input from teammates and customers for a piece, with guidance on how to run the conversation

Experience we are looking for

- 0 to 2 years in content marketing, writing, journalism, or a related field; internships and strong freelance work count
- Curiosity about how products and software work, and the ability to pick up new topics quickly by reading and asking questions, no prior technical background required
- Writing samples that show clarity and structure, published or not




- Willingness to learn SEO and AEO basics and work inside a structured editorial process rather than freelancing on tone or format
- Some experience managing deadlines against a plan, whether that is a content calendar, an internship deliverable, or freelance client work
- Comfortable asking questions, taking direction, and operating in a small, fast-moving team without a lot of hand-holding

Nice to have

- Engineering, data engineering, or computer science background, including self-taught
- Curiosity about web scraping infrastructure, proxy networks, or anti-bot systems
- Any prior exposure to marketing or writing for a technical or developer audience
- Basic familiarity with docs tooling or Git-based workflows
- Internship or freelance experience at a startup, API-first, or infrastructure company
