Role Description The Composite Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in India, with a mix of on-site work at company or client facilities and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and optimizing composite structures for marine and defence applications, preparing detailed component and assembly drawings, and selecting suitable materials and manufacturing processes.

The role involves collaborating with design, structural analysis, production, and testing teams to ensure that composite solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The Composite

Engineer will support prototype development, oversee fabrication and quality checks, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement in composite design and manufacturing practices. This position also includes documentation of design decisions, preparation of technical reports,



and participation in design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Strong background in composite materials and structures, including design, analysis, and application for marine or aerospace, or related industries.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, ANSYS or equivalent) for modelling composite components and assemblies.
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes such as hand layup, vacuum infusion, resin transfer molding, filament winding, or prepreg/autoclave techniques.
- Understanding of structural mechanics, fatigue, and failure modes in composite materials, and familiarity with relevant standards or classification rules.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and production units, with the ability to translate design into manufacturable solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong documentation, technical writing, and communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear drawings, reports, and presentations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety in engineering practice.
- Experience in marine, defence, or high-performance structures is an advantage; familiarity with indigenous defence projects or naval systems is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage priorities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
