Omkar

Lab provides comprehensive services such as catalytic screening, process and product development, and regeneration and refining of precious metal materials. It also operates advanced testing and analysis facilities for precious metal analysis, water and solvent testing, inorganic salt testing, particle size analysis, and elemental testing by EDX/AAS and B.E.T. In addition, the company actively procures spent or unused catalysts and precious metal–containing materials in various forms.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chemistry Professional role based at Omkar Lab’s facility in Vasai.

The Chemistry

Professional will work on the development, optimization, and characterization of precious metal catalysts, with a focus on asymmetric hydrogenation, isomerization reactions, and related processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting laboratory experiments, performing analytical tests (such as metal content, particle size, and surface area analysis), documenting procedures and results, and supporting process and product development activities. The role also involves contributing to regeneration and refining projects,



assisting with catalytic screening, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The Chemistry

Professional will help maintain laboratory equipment, follow standard operating procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives in line with Omkar Lab’s sustainability goals.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in chemistry, preferably inorganic or analytical chemistry, with experience in catalysis or precious metal chemistry.
- Hands-on skills in laboratory techniques, including wet chemistry, reaction setup, and handling of metal catalysts and related materials.
- Proficiency in analytical methods relevant to the role, such as metal analysis, particle size determination, and surface area measurements (e.g., B.E.T).
- Ability to understand and apply process development principles, including experimental design, optimization, and scale-up support.
- Competence in documenting experimental work, preparing technical reports, and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
- Knowledge of safety practices for handling chemicals, catalysts, and laboratory equipment, with a commitment to secure work habits.
- Relevant academic background, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site laboratory workplace.
