ABOUT THE JOB:
The Business Developer Sales Representative in an inside sales team is responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities, nurturing leads, and driving sales through strategic outreach, relationship building, and product knowledge. They focus on engaging potential clients, qualifying leads, and setting up sales meetings for the broader sales team to close deals.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
- Actively identify and research new business opportunities by reaching out to potential clients through cold calls, emails, and social media. This includes sourcing and nurturing new leads, targeting the right decision-makers, and qualifying prospects.
Lead Qualification & Needs Assessment:
- Engage with leads to understand their needs and pain points, qualifying them as potential sales opportunities. This involves assessing their business requirements and determining how the company’s products or services can add value.
Sales Outreach & Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential clients through consistent follow-ups, personalized communication, and engagement. This helps in building trust and long-term relationships, ultimately moving prospects through the sales pipeline.
Product Knowledge & Sales Presentations:
- Provide potential clients with detailed product information, benefits, and tailored sales presentations that align with their needs. This requires a solid understanding of the company offerings (Container storage, Ground Level offices, Mobile Offices, COLD/Reefers, Complex, Clearspan, Fencing, and Managed Services; And how they can solve client challenges.
Collaboration with Sales Team & Reporting:
- Collaborate with the broader sales team to align efforts, share insights, and coordinate account strategies. Additionally, report on sales activities, progress, and key metrics to ensure targets are being met and adjust tactics as needed.
Negotiation & Closing Deals:
- Lead negotiations, propose solutions, and close sales in line with company policies and targets. The role involves managing the sales pipeline from prospecting to closing, ensuring that leads are nurtured, opportunities are optimized, and sales targets are met.
Tracking Pipeline Stages:
- Organize and monitor prospects through each stage of the sales pipeline (e.g., lead, prospect, qualified opportunity, negotiation, closed-won/lost). Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and progress within the CRM system and Maintain consistent communication with prospects (Follow-Up) and leads to nurture relationships and move them through the pipeline.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. (Preferred but not always mandatory)
- High School Diploma may be acceptable if combined with relevant work experience or sales training.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, preferably in business development, inside sales, or customer-facing roles.
- Proven track record of generating leads, building relationships, and achieving sales targets.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales automation tools is often preferred.
- Familiarity with B2B sales (Business to Business), particularly in a fast-paced, high-volume sales setting, can be a significant advantage.
- Quick Turnaround Times: Deals need to be moved through the sales pipeline quickly. Sales reps must respond rapidly to client inquiries, engage in follow-ups without delay, and close sales efficiently.
- High Lead Volume: Fast-paced B2B sales teams typically handle large volumes of leads. This requires excellent lead management, effective qualification, and the ability to prioritize prospects that are most likely to convert.

Build your future with us! Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Sales Representative to join our growing Inside Sales Team.
This individual will be responsible for identifying and engaging potential clients, initiating contact through outbound prospecting efforts, and qualifying interest in generating leads for the sales team. They will play a key role in building the sales pipeline by nurturing early-stage prospects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be passionate about driving business growth. Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead Generation & Qualification: o Research and identify potential business opportunities within target industries or regions. o Utilize various tools and strategies to generate new leads (cold calling, email campaigns, social media, etc.). o Qualify leads to ensure they fit the company’s product or service offerings.
- Sales Outreach & Follow-Up: o Initiate outreach via phone, email, and social media to introduce products and services to prospects. o Schedule product demos (Willscot Catalog) and meetings for further engagement with prospects. o Follow up consistently to move leads through the sales funnel.
- Relationship Building: o Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, customers, and internal teams. o Provide exceptional customer service and serve as the first point of contact for new clients. • Pipeline Management: o Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and sales activities using CRM software. o Track and report on sales metrics, performance, and progress against targets.
- Collaboration: o Work closely with the sales teams to align on strategies and messaging. o Collaborate with senior sales representatives to close deals and expand client relationships. - Achieving Sales Targets: o Meet and exceed individual sales quotas and KPIs. o Contribute to the overall growth and success of the sales department.
Qualifications
- Education: Any graduate;
- Experience: o 1-5 years of experience in sales, lead generation, or business development (inside sales experience is a plus).
- Skills: o Robust communication skills (verbal and written). o Ability to build rapport with clients and prospects quickly. o Proficient in CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office 360. o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
