Associate, School & Community Relations – Bengaluru | Teach For India The School & Community Relations Associate will be responsible for managing school and community partnerships and supporting the Program team with stakeholder management across schools and communities. The role will focus on building solid relationships, enabling problem-solving and collaboration among Fellows and stakeholders, and working closely with the Program team and Government Relations Manager to ensure effective partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Align Stakeholder Management with Program Priorities
Engage School Leaders to deepen their understanding of Teach For India’s movement and create champions for our work.
Collect, track and analyse information on stakeholder engagement and management through methods such as shadowing, interviews and surveys.
Identify challenges and root causes related to schools and communities and develop relevant recommendations and solutions.
Share insights and best practices with stakeholders and internal teams.
Network with organisations to address school, student and community-related issues.
Support smooth MoU renewals with schools and explore opportunities to expand partnerships with government and low-income private schools.
- Build Capacity Among Fellows, Staff & Stakeholders
Support the Senior Program Manager/Program Coach in designing sessions for Inductions, City Conferences and Program Fridays on areas such as problem-solving, expectation setting, stakeholder mapping, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Lead city-wide spaces such as HM Conferences to bring together Headmasters, teachers and/or parents.
Collaborate with Program Managers and Fellows to strengthen systems and structures in partner schools.
Support Fellows in organising parent-teacher meetings and identifying parent champions.
Support Fellows in implementing high-impact Be The Change Projects (BTCPs) in the community
.
- Maintain School & Community Partnerships
Design and implement a year-long Community Engagement strategy for the city.
Build and maintain a database of initiatives, policies and schemes that could benefit partner schools, parents and children.
Support Fellow placements by considering requirements at the school, city and organisational levels.
Identify and cultivate new and existing partnerships to support Fellows and Staff in achieving programmatic goals.
Manage city-level school, community and Fellow databases.
Support the Manager – Government Relations in securing necessary permissions from School, Government and Education Department authorities.
Work with community centres and schools to strengthen instructional hours and learning opportunities for students.
Collaborate with the Program and Partnership teams to achieve regional priorities with school and community stakeholders.
- Additional Responsibilities
Support Recruitment, Selection and Matriculation based on candidates’ interests and skills.
Support training and institute-based activities based on interest and skills.
Support planning and organising city events such as City Conferences, Inductions and Mid-Year Retreats.
Support the City Child Protection Committee, with a focus on child safety and wellbeing for students across the city.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
1–3 years of professional experience.
Experience planning and executing complex projects with multiple priorities.
Experience collaborating effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups.
Demonstrated initiative and ownership.
Previous experience in teaching/education is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
