Role Description This is a full-time, in office Assistant Professor of Physics role based at Amity University Ranchi. The role involves designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate physics courses, including lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions.
The Assistant
Professor will supervise student projects, guide academic advising, and contribute to curriculum development in physics and related interdisciplinary areas.
Responsibilities include pursuing independent and collaborative research, publishing in reputable journals, and applying for research funding. The role also involves participating in departmental activities, academic committees, outreach initiatives, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Physics, with the ability to teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Expertise in Theoretical Physics relevant to Basic & advanced physics curricula and research.
- Background in Astronomy or related areas, with capacity to integrate modern developments into teaching and research.
- Demonstrated skills in Physics Education, including modern pedagogy, curriculum design, and student assessment methods.
- Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution (or near completion with strong research record).
- Evidence of research productivity through publications, conference presentations, or funded projects.
- Effective communication skills and ability to engage diverse learners in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, inclusive teaching practices, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary academic community.
