Purpose/Objective
This job role is responsible for assisting in the execution, management, and support of mild steel-based projects.
The role includes overseeing site preparation, equipment installation, and commissioning, ensuring all tasks are completed according to project plans and timelines while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities of Role
MS Projects Engineer - O3 Project Execution and Support: - Assist in the execution of mild steel projects, including site preparation, equipment installation, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Collaborate with the Projects Lead to ensure all engineering activities meet design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Conduct on-site inspections and assessments to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Prepare and update detailed engineering drawings, technical documents, and project plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services required for project completion.
Technical Support and Problem Solving: - Provide technical support to the project team, troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Analyze and interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications to support decision-making and ensure successful completion of project tasks.
- Implement engineering solutions to address on-site challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and budget.
- Assist in the development and implementation of engineering best practices, focusing on improving efficiency, safety, and quality in project execution.
- Participate in technical meetings and reviews, providing input and recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
Pipeline Installation and Maintenance: - Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of MS pipelines,
ensuring that they are constructed to withstand the harsh conditions typically encountered in oil and gas operations.
- Perform regular inspections to monitor pipeline integrity and address any potential issues.
- Mechanical Integrity Assessment: - Conduct mechanical integrity assessments on MS structures and equipment used in oil and gas operations, identifying potential weaknesses or failure points.
- Develop and implement remedial actions to ensure the continued protected operation of these assets.
Quality Control and Assurance: - Monitor and enforce quality control measures throughout all phases of the project, ensuring that all work meets required standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials, equipment, and systems to verify compliance with project requirements and industry regulations.
- Document and report any quality issues or non-conformities, working with the project team to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Assist in the development of quality assurance plans and procedures, ensuring effective implementation during project execution.
Safety and Compliance: - Ensure all engineering activities comply with local, regional, and national safety regulations and industry standards, minimizing the risk of accidents or incidents.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
- Provide input on safety protocols and procedures, ensuring adherence by all team members and contractors during project execution.
- Assist in the preparation of safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including engineering drawings,
technical specifications, progress reports, and inspection records.
- Prepare regular project status reports for the Projects Lead, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas requiring attention.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built documentation upon project completion, ensuring that all records reflect the final state of the project.
- Ensure proper filing and accessibility of all documentation, supporting future project reviews and audits.
Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on engineering activities and contributing to discussions on project planning and execution.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
- Provide clear and concise technical information to non-engineering team members, ensuring understanding of project requirements and constraints.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Work Experience: 3 years of experience, preferably in construction project management.
Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
Preferred Industry: Experience in the gas distribution, oil and energy, or utilities sectors.
