Role Overview

We are seeking an API Governance & Standards Specialist to anchor the governance layer of our integration platform practice. This is a full-time, role where you will own API lifecycle standards, BIAN-aligned domain modelling, and the compliance and adoption frameworks that make decentralised integration delivery safe and repeatable.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and enforce API design standards using a contract-first, OpenAPI-driven approach.
- Own the API lifecycle management process — versioning, change management, deprecation, and sunset policies.
- Develop and maintain BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network) semantic and domain models to guide integration design.
- Build and maintain governance-as-code rules using Spectral, OPA, or equivalent tooling integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain compliance dashboards providing real-time visibility into governance adherence.




- Define and maintain the Target Operating Model (TOM) and RACI frameworks for platform-vs-delivery-team interaction.
- Drive API adoption initiatives — onboarding documentation, developer education, change enablement, and community of practice.
- Facilitate the Integrations governance committee — preparing agendas, tracking decisions, and maintaining standards in Confluence.

Required Skills

- 3-6 years in API product management, enterprise architecture, or integration governance roles.
- Deep familiarity with BIAN domain modelling and financial services semantic standards.
- Hands-on experience with OpenAPI specification, lifecycle tooling, and change management processes.
- Experience authoring governance-as-code rules using Spectral, OPA, or similar.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience defining TOM and RACI frameworks in complex, multi-team environments.
- Proficiency with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.

Positive to Have

- Familiarity with Azure API Center or Azure API Management (APIM) governance capabilities.
- Exposure to FinOps principles and cloud cost compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Team Topologies interaction patterns (Facilitating, X-as-a-Service, Collaboration).
- Experience with developer portals and self-service IDP onboarding flows.
- FinTech, BankTech, or multilateral financial institution background.
