About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Android Audio Engineer with robust expertise in Android Audio Framework and Android Automotive OS (AAOS) to develop, customize, integrate, and debug audio solutions for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems .

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AudioFlinger, Audio Policy, Audio HAL, Audio Control HAL, ALSA/TinyALSA, Embedded Linux , and AAOS audio features. Experience with automotive platforms such as Qualcomm, MediaTek, or NXP will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, customize, and integrate Android Audio Framework for AAOS-based IVI systems.
- Develop and integrate Audio HAL, Audio Policy Manager, and Audio Control HAL .
- Customize and debug AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyService , and Android audio services.
- Work extensively with CarAudioService , audio routing, volume groups, audio focus, and multi-zone audio.
- Implement and optimize:
- Media Playback
- Bluetooth Audio – A2DP/HFP
- USB Audio
- FM/AM Radio
- Navigation Prompts
- Voice Assistant
- Audio Mixing
- Audio Ducking
- Develop and customize Audio HAL interfaces using AIDL/HIDL .
- Integrate DSPs and external amplifiers with the Android Audio Framework.




- Configure and optimize ALSA/TinyALSA and related audio components.
- Troubleshoot audio latency, synchronization issues, glitches, distortion, and overall audio-quality problems.
- Debug using Logcat, dumpsys media.audio, TinyALSA utilities, Systrace, Perfetto, and kernel logs .
- Work closely with BSP, Middleware, HMI, Bluetooth, Vehicle HAL, and System teams .
- Perform root-cause analysis of production issues and provide support for customer deliveries.
