Description

ABB is hiring an AI Lead, Autonomous for its Industrial Automation Digital Organization. This hands-on technical leadership role will drive the Autonomous Framework program and deliver validated AI outcomes for industrial applications.

Experience

- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, data science or analytics
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Generative AI, Agentic AI and/or Classical Machine Learning
- Experience delivering AI solutions in industrial domains
- Experience driving execution across multiple teams and technology partners
- Experience influencing outcomes without direct authority
- Experience managing complex dependencies, risks and delivery milestones

Responsibilities

- Drive the Autonomous Framework as a program
- Translate prioritized AI use cases into delivered, validated outcomes
- Contribute to AI solution design, prototyping and delivery
- Provide technical leadership across Generative AI, Agentic AI and Classical Machine Learning
- Drive AI-led margin acceleration initiatives
- Provide delivery and feasibility inputs into AI use-case prioritization
- Establish operating cadence for the Autonomous Framework
- Manage milestones, dependencies and releases
- Maintain execution visibility
- Provide concise, decision-ready updates on progress, risks, blockers and required actions
- Define objectives, scope,



success criteria and decision gates for AI initiatives
- Manage cross-functional dependencies
- Address risks and blockers
- Provide input into prioritization and build-vs-buy decisions
- Act as a senior AI SME
- Collaborate with architects, product teams, platform teams and partners
- Build and lead a small team of AI engineers as the function scales
