ABOUT LOOMLIGHT INTERACTIVE
Loomlight Interactive is a Bengaluru-based game studio crafting immersive mobile experiences, including narrative-driven hidden-object and adventure games. We're a small, collaborative team that values craft, creativity, and a shared love of great games. This is a fully remote role.
THE ROLE
As a 2D Artist, you'll collaborate closely with developers and game designers to bring game worlds, characters, and concepts to life through compelling visuals. Your day-to-day contribution will scale with your experience level, but every artist on our team helps shape the look and feel of our games.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with developers and game designers to create high-quality 2D art assets for games.
- Create in-game artwork including character designs, backgrounds, props, and placeholder assets.
- Produce visually engaging illustrations for in-game content and marketing materials.
- Ensure all visual assets align with the overall artistic direction and style of the game.
- Provide quick sketches and visualizations based on written briefs or brainstorming sessions.
- Communicate visual ideas clearly and solve design challenges with creative solutions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (all levels)
- Strong sketching and visualization skills, with the ability to quickly translate ideas into visuals.
- A background in illustration with the flexibility to work across multiple art styles, from photo-realistic to highly stylized.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and familiarity with other digital art and concept tools.
- A solid understanding of color theory,
lighting, composition, anatomy, and visual aesthetics.
- Excellent visual communication skills and a genuine passion for gaming and digital experiences.
- A 2D art portfolio showcasing a range of styles and creative projects (required for all applicants).
EXPERIENCE LEVELS
- Intern — Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in art, design, or a related field. Foundational drawing and digital art skills, a strong willingness to learn, and an eagerness to grow within a professional studio.
- Junior 2D Artist — Up to ~2 years of experience or an equivalently strong portfolio. Able to produce production-ready assets with guidance and iterate quickly on feedback.
- Experienced 2D Artist — 2+ years creating art for games or digital products. Able to own assets end-to-end, design characters, props, and environments independently, and help guide and mentor junior artists. Familiarity with 2D animation tools (e.g. Spine or Unity 2D Animation) is a plus.
