Finz is an AI-native finance platform for real economy businesses where costs, margins, and cash move daily but finance still runs on a month-end cycle. It connects banking, accounting, and operational data to margin leakage, cost overruns, and cash issues, without replacing existing tools or adding extra headcount.

We are hiring an Accounting Lead, US Operations to build and run our accounting operations in Pune for US customers.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced US accounting professional who can own delivery across multiple customer accounts, maintain a high standard of accounting quality, work directly with US clients, and build a strong accounting team as we scale.

The role is based in Kharadi, Pune .

Responsibilities

- Own accounting delivery and month-end close across US customer accounts
- Review P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow, general ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Review work prepared by junior accountants and take ownership of final accounting quality
- Manage close calendars, outstanding items, customer deliverables, and accounting controls across multiple accounts
- Work directly with US founders, finance teams, controllers, CPAs, and tax professionals
- Build, train, and manage a team of accountants and graduates in Pune
- Establish accounting processes, review standards, SOPs, and quality controls as the operation scales




- Identify opportunities to automate accounting workflows using AI and work with Finz's product and engineering teams to implement them

Requirements

- 5+ years of accounting experience, including meaningful experience with US accounting or US clients
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Experience across AP, AR, accruals, prepayments, bank and credit card reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience reviewing accounting work and managing or mentoring junior team members
- Robust written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate directly with US customers
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage accounting quality across multiple customer accounts

Preferred

- CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Experience in outsourced accounting, Client Accounting Services (CAS), fractional finance, or a US accounting services firm
- Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Gusto, ADP, or similar US finance systems
- Experience managing accounting for multiple US entities or clients
- Experience building or scaling an accounting team
- Practical experience using AI or automation in accounting workflows
