Role Description The Academic Counsellor is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for guiding students through their study abroad planning and decision-making. Day-to-day activities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, understanding student backgrounds and aspirations, and advising on suitable destinations, universities, and courses. The role involves assisting with academic planning, application preparation, and coordinating with internal teams for documentation, finance, and visa support.

Counsellor will communicate regularly with students and families, address questions and concerns, and ensure a smooth transition from initial inquiry to post-admission stages. The position also requires maintaining accurate records, staying current with global education trends, and contributing to seminars, webinars, or outreach activities as needed.

Qualifications

- Strong student-facing skills, including Student Counseling and Academic Advising, with the ability to support diverse academic profiles.
- Excellent Communication abilities, including transparent spoken and written communication, active listening, and relationship-building with students and families.
- Career Counseling and guidance skills to help students align academic choices with long-term career goals.
- Solid understanding of Education systems, preferably international higher education and study abroad pathways.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Prior experience in academic counseling, student services, or study abroad consulting is highly beneficial.
- Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail in handling applications and documentation.
- Comfort with using digital tools, CRM or student management systems, and basic office software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a student-centric, ethical approach to guidance.
