Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically competent Procurement Engineer
to support procurement and supply chain operations for engineered products and
services. This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing
supplier relationships, evaluating technical and commercial requirements, and
ensuring timely material availability to support business and production
demands. The ideal candidate will possess solid mechanical engineering
knowledge, procurement experience, and the ability to interpret manufacturing
drawings and costing information to make informed sourcing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the technical
specifications, manufacturing requirements, and standards of products and
services being procured.
* Work closely with engineering teams to interpret technical drawings, material
specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
* Review purchase requisitions generated through MRP demand planning and
determine procurement requirements.
* Source materials, components,



and services in accordance with technical
specifications and procurement guidelines.
* Conduct inventory redeployment checks and utilize existing inventory where
available.
* Leverage contract pricing agreements and approved suppliers whenever
applicable.
* Request quotations from suppliers, communicate delivery requirements, and
evaluate supplier responses for pricing, quality, compliance, and lead times.
* Apply competitive bidding practices to achieve the best balance of quality,
delivery, and total cost of ownership.
* Analyze manufacturing drawings, cycle times, material requirements, and
component costing to support supplier negotiations and sourcing decisions.
* Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company
procedures.
* Obtain supplier acknowledgements, monitor delivery schedules, and communicate
status updates to relevant stakeholders.
* Manage purchase order amendments
