- Patient Oriented:
- Patient assessment
- Explanation of the investigation/procedure to be performed
- Patient counseling before investigation/procedure
- Obtaining consent of the patient
- Patient & relative counseling (post procedure/investigation)
- To perform all the investigations as per the need
- To read all the imaging films and makes accurate reports
- To confirm the work of the medical transcriptionist before finalizing and signing the reports
- Inventory Oriented: NA
- Medication related:
- Prescription of medication
- Providing written instruction to the nursing staff about dose
- Duration/ site / precaution
- Educate patient and staff
- Check all records at least once / week
- Department related:
- Supervision of technicians/ nursing staff
- To act as a spokesperson of the department
- Overall responsibility of the department
- Additional Responsibilities if any –
- Ensure highest level of patient care.
- Ensure operational readiness of the department all the times.
- Should be willing to assist / advise colleagues when called upon or in emergency.
- To take active participation in the CME’s.
- Ensure safety standards are fully met with in relation to Nuclear, Biological and chemical hazards.
- Encourage regular intra departmental and inter departmental interaction.
- To attend the emergency as per the emergency Rota, in the shortest possible time.
- Any other tasks as deemed appropriate to ensure smooth operations of the department.
