Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with ~5 years of experience (3+ years of production-level experience building agents and backend systems) to join our founding engineering team as a technical lead. This is a high-ownership, high-agency role for someone who wants to build core product infrastructure from the ground up, with deep involvement in both backend engineering and the agentic layer — orchestration, guardrailing, and harness design for multi-agent systems.



The role occasionally extends into our own custom intelligence layer, fine-tuning small independent models and exposing them as MCP tools for agent-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead backend engineering for core product systems, with a strong emphasis on scalability and reliability in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Design and build the agentic/orchestration layer — multi-agent coordination, guardrails, harnesses, and failure recovery.
- Architect systems that expose custom-built or fine-tuned models (vision, language, or otherwise) as tools agents can call, reason over, and act on.
- Own system design end-to-end, from backend service architecture to how agents are orchestrated, sandboxed, and monitored in production.
- Work across our Postgres and Postgres-variant database backends, with an eye toward distributed-systems optimizations as the product scales.
- Deploy and manage cloud infrastructur
