Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer – Special Processes is responsible for developing, validating, and sustaining manufacturing processes related to heat treatment, plating, chemical processing, welding, surface treatments, and other critical special processes. This role ensures that all special processes meet industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
The engineer will serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for special processes and will drive process improvements, equipment qualification, defect reduction, and compliance with regulatory/industry requirements (e.g., NADCAP, ISO,



customer-specific specs).
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Development & Optimization
Develop, define, and optimize special process parameters for heat treatment, plating, anodizing, passivation, and coating operations.
Conduct capability studies (Cp/Cpk), DOE, and root-cause investigations to improve process robustness.
Support current process introductions, including equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
2. Technical Expertise & Compliance
Interpret customer, OEM, and industry specifications (e.g., AMS, ASTM) for special processes.
Ensure compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
Establish process windows, control limits, and inspection/quality checkpoints.
Provide metallurgical and material-science guidance for heat-treated and coated parts.
