Fractional CTO
to help us convert our vision into a clear technical roadmap and manage its execution. Detailed product information will be shared only with shortlisted candidates. Role Overview This is a hands-on technology leadership role, not a purely advisory position. The Fractional CTO will work closely with the founders and development team to oversee technology planning, AI product development, sprint execution, hiring, architecture, and overall project progress. Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain the product and technology roadmap. Guide the architecture and development of an AI-based product. Convert product requirements into epics, user stories, sprints, and measurable milestones. Conduct sprint planning, backlog reviews, and delivery tracking. Review daily progress, technical blockers, risks, and priorities. Coordinate work across AI, backend, mobile, UI/UX, QA, and cloud teams. Prepare a phased technical hiring plan. Help create job descriptions, screening criteria, and interview scorecards. Interview and shortlist candidates for critical technical roles. Review key architecture, security, database, API, cloud, and integration decisions. Establish practical engineering, QA, documentation, code-review, and release processes. Provide founders with a clear weekly overview of progress, delays, risks, and next steps. Required Experience
10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology leadership. Previous experience as a CTO, Fractional CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Engineering Director, or Principal Architect. Proven experience building and launching an AI-based product into production. Robust understanding of AI systems,



backend architecture, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, security, Dev Ops, and mobile integration. Practical experience with Agile delivery, sprint planning, Jira, and engineering project management. Experience building and hiring multidisciplinary technical teams. Ability to work directly with founders in an early-stage startup environment. Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Technical Exposure Experience with the following will be an advantage: Python and FastAPI PostgreSQL and Redis AI/ML APIs and open-source models Vector databases AWS and Docker Git Lab and CI/CD Mobile and up-to-date web application architecture Working Commitment The selected candidate must be available for: One daily virtual project-review call. Regular communication with founders and team leads. One fixed day every week at our Gurugram office. Participation in sprint planning, architecture reviews, hiring discussions, and product demonstrations. Candidates who cannot attend the Gurugram office once a week should not apply. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has built real AI products, not only proof-of-concept applications. Can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution. Can introduce structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Can identify technical and delivery risks early. Can build, guide, and mentor a growing technology team. Takes ownership of outcomes rather than only providing recommendations.
