Role Description The Publications Associate is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting the end-to-end publication process for student research projects. This role includes coordinating manuscript submission timelines, tracking progress from draft to publication, and ensuring that documents meet journal-specific formatting and style requirements. The Publications Associate will review and proofread manuscripts for clarity, consistency, and adherence to academic standards, as well as maintain accurate records of submissions, revisions, and outcomes in internal systems. They will communicate regularly with mentors, students, and journal contacts to resolve issues, gather required information, and provide status updates. The role also involves developing and refining internal guidelines, templates, and workflows to improve publication quality and efficiency, and contributing to reports and insights on publication metrics and process improvements.





Qualifications

- Strong academic writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and consistency in language and style.
- Experience with scholarly publishing processes, including manuscript preparation, journal guidelines, and basic understanding of peer review.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and track detailed information accurately.
- Explicit, professional written and verbal communication skills for working with students, mentors, and external journal representatives.
- Comfort with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, project management or ticketing systems) and willingness to learn new platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Interest or background in research, education, or related fields; experience working with high school or undergraduate students is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Education, Social Sciences, or a research-intensive discipline) or equivalent experience.
