ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supplier Industrialization Execution

- Support industrialization of coating, finishing, and marking processes at suppliers, ensuring readiness for production scale-up.
- Partner with suppliers to develop and validate coating and printing processes, including equipment selection, process parameters, and curing methods.
- Execute APQP, PPAP, and product/process validation activities for new product launches.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks related to coating adhesion, durability, and cosmetic appearance.
- Support supplier selection through evaluation of coating and marking capabilities, capacity, and technical maturity.

Coatings & Marking Materials / Process Engineering

- Provide technical expertise in coating technologies (e.g., liquid coatings, powder coatings, inks), surface treatments, and marking processes (e.g., printing, laser marking, embossing, labeling).
- Evaluate coating and ink systems based on functional and cosmetic requirements, including adhesion, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, UV stability, and color consistency.
- Support development and optimization of coating processes (e.g., spray, dip, roll, screen printing, pad printing, laser marking).
- Troubleshoot coating defects such as poor adhesion, blistering, uneven thickness, color variation, smearing, or delamination.
- Collaborate on substrate preparation methods (cleaning, priming, surface activation) and curing processes (thermal, UV, etc.).

Supplier Development & Collaboration

- Work closely with suppliers to improve coating process capability, equipment performance, and quality consistency.
- Conduct supplier audits focused on coating processes, environmental controls, and quality systems.
- Support supplier capability development through technical guidance and structured improvement initiatives.




- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to ensure standardized industrialization practices.

Global Collaboration

- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams across regions to support global product launches.
- Travel to supplier sites as required (20 to 40%).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

Experience

- 5 to 10 years of experience in coatings, surface finishing, printing, or manufacturing engineering.
- Hands-on experience with industrial coating, printing, or marking processes.
- Experience supporting new product development (NPD/NPI) and supplier industrialization.
- Experience working directly with suppliers in manufacturing environments.
- Bachelors degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.

Skills and Capabilities

- Strong English communication skills (Verbal and written - technical)
- Solid knowledge of coating materials, inks, and surface treatments, including performance characteristics.
- Experience with printing and marking technologies (screen printing, pad printing, laser marking, labeling).
- Understanding of coating defects, adhesion mechanisms, and surface preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with GD&T;, dimensional impact of coatings, and masking strategies.
- Knowledge of environmental, curing, and process control requirements for coating systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in statistical analysis methods (SPC, DOE, capability analysis).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex coating and cosmetic quality issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and supplier teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong focus on cosmetic quality and customer requirements.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
