The company is involved in major infrastructure projects across India, particularly railways, bridges, flyovers, highways, structural steel fabrication & erection, pipelines, industrial structures and other civil engineering projects.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Legal Advisor to manage the company's day-to-day legal requirements, with primary responsibility for legal documentation, legal drafting, contract review, legal advisory and arbitration-related matters.

The candidate will work closely with the Management, Project, Contracts, Commercial and Finance teams and provide practical legal advice on various business and project-related matters.

The role may also require occasional travel to project sites, client offices, government authorities, courts, tribunals or other locations, depending on business requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. LEGAL DOCUMENTATION

- Prepare, review and maintain various legal documents, agreements, contracts, notices and correspondence.
- Review project-related documentation and identify potential legal risks.
- Maintain proper records of legal documents, agreements, notices, claims and disputes.
- Ensure legal documentation is complete, accurate and properly executed.

2. LEGAL DRAFTING

- Draft agreements, contracts, notices, replies, legal letters, undertakings, affidavits, declarations and other legal documents.
- Draft responses to legal notices, claims and contractual communications.
- Assist in preparing documentation relating to disputes,



claims and arbitration proceedings.
- Review and modify legal documents received from clients, consultants, vendors, contractors and other parties.

3. CONTRACT REVIEW & ADVISORY

- Review construction, infrastructure, EPC, subcontract and commercial agreements.
- Advise management and project teams on contractual obligations, rights, liabilities and potential risks.
- Identify unfavourable contractual clauses and suggest appropriate modifications.
- Provide legal advice on contractual disputes, delays, claims, payments, termination and other project-related matters.
- Support the Contracts/Commercial team in interpretation of contractual clauses.

4. ARBITRATION & DISPUTE MANAGEMENT

- Handle and coordinate arbitration-related matters.
- Assist in preparation of statements of claim, statements of defence, rejoinders, submissions and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with external advocates, counsels and legal consultants.
- Monitor ongoing arbitration cases, hearings, deadlines and documentation.
- Assist management in developing appropriate legal strategies for disputes and claims.
- Maintain a proper database/status report of ongoing legal and arbitration matters.

5. LEGAL ADVISORY

- Provide timely and practical legal advice to management and various departments.
- Advise project teams on legal and contractual issues arising during project execution.
- Highlight potential legal risks and recommend suitable preventive measures.
- Keep management informed about important developments in ongoing legal matters.

LITIGATION & EXTERNAL COUNSEL COORDINATION

- Coordinate with external lawyers, advocates and legal consultants.
- Assist in handling matters before courts, tribunals, arbitration forums and other authorities, as applicable.
- Maintain case files, hearing schedules, legal opinions and related documentation.
- Follow up on legal matters and ensure timely submission of required documents.

7. PROJECT & SITE SUPPORT

- Provide legal support to project teams on contractual and documentation-related issues.
- Review legal issues arising at project sites and coordinate with the concerned departments.
- Visit project sites or other locations whenever required for legal matters, meetings, documentation or dispute resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Required:
- LL.B. / Bachelor of Law from a recognized university
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in legal functions

- Preferred:

- LL.M. or additional qualification in Corporate/Commercial/Construction Law
- Experience in Infrastructure, Construction, EPC, Engineering, Contract Management or related industries
- Hands-on experience in:
- Construction/EPC contract matters
- Arbitration and commercial disputes
- Legal drafting
- Contract review and interpretation
- Infrastructure/project-related legal matters
- Coordination with external advocates and legal consultants

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Strong legal drafting and documentation skills
- Good knowledge of contract law and commercial law
- Practical experience in arbitration and dispute resolution
- Strong contract review and risk-assessment skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand and interpret complex contractual clauses
- Valuable coordination and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple legal matters
- Proficiency in MS Office
