Social Media Manager
Full time, in-office
Andheri East, Mumbai
The Company: GreenLit
What GreenLit actually does
GreenLit works at the join between experiential marketing and sustainability in India. We transform brand stories into on-ground experiences that stay — which in practice means we are the people taping down cable runs at six in the morning, and also the people who have to make that morning look like something worth watching by the evening.
Work you would be posting about includes Cars24 at Ganesh Chaturthi, Fast&Up; at PeakSt8, D’You at Hyrox, the Aqualogica hydration setup, the Fast&Up; fuel pump at KeniEMusk, and the athlete seeding programme at Hyrox Delhi. The sustainability side of the business runs alongside all of it, and it has its own audience with its own appetite.
Every page you would be responsible for
Five Instagram pages and LinkedIn. Each one has a different reader and a different reason to exist, and part of the job is keeping those distinct while making sure everything still rolls up to the GreenLit name.
GreenLit — @greenlit_co
Role: HUB
The umbrella page. Our own work, our point of view, our people, including founder content.
GreenLit Marketing — @greenlit.marketing
Role: VERTICAL
The experiential and brand-activation side, aimed at marketers and agency decision-makers.
GreenLit Sustainability — @greenlit.sustainability
Role: VERTICAL
The sustainability practice, aimed at a different buyer with a lower tolerance for marketing language.
Cupable — @cupable.india
Role: BRAND
Everything around our reusable rice husk cups — supply to QSR chains, exports, events, alcohol brands and corporate gifting. A brand of its own, with an audience that is not the agency’s audience.
Hyrox Janta Party — @hyroxjantaparty
Role: COMMUNITY
The community page around our Hyrox work — the racing community in India, the athletes we seed, and the events themselves.
GreenLit on LinkedIn — linkedin.com
Role: CLIENT-FACING
Case-led posts for brand and agency decision-makers, plus hiring and company news.
THE TEAM
Two people, and you are leading them
Social at GreenLit is a two-person team. You would be running it, which here means setting the calendar, briefing and editing other people’s work, holding the line on what goes where, and doing a share of the making yourself.
A team this size has no layer to hide behind, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable being both the one who decides and the one who shoots.
You would also be the person who says no — to the post that belongs on a different page, to the client edit that would flatten a good film, to the fourth carousel in a week when nobody has been on a site visit.
What you would own:
Marketing, not only social
Social is the centre of this role and it is not the whole of it. On a team this size, marketing means whatever the week needs:
- The calendar across all five pages, planned far enough ahead that event weeks do not turn into scrambles, and loose enough to catch what actually happens on site.
- Capture on the ground. Being at activations, shooting on a phone, knowing which twenty seconds of a ten-hour build is the thing people will stop for.
- Briefing and editing the rest of the team’s output — scripts, cuts, captions — and raising the floor on all of it over time.
- LinkedIn pages with genuinely different readers, including the founder-adjacent posts that now sit under the GreenLit umbrella.
- Community management: comments, DMs, the inbound that turns into work. Some of our best conversations start in a reply.
- Reporting that says something. What moved, what did not, what we should stop doing. Screenshots of a follower graph are not a report.
- The website. Keeping it current, writing for it, and pushing for the changes it needs rather than waiting for someone to ask.
- Influencer and creator partnerships, from finding the right people through to what they actually post and whether it was worth it.
- Client gifting: hampers, boxes, and the small physical things that turn up after an event and get remembered for longer than the recap reel.
- Sales and pitch material — decks, one-pagers, case studies — when a conversation needs them.
The vision for the vertical:
Everything above already exists. It is the floor of this job rather than the ceiling.
What we are actually hiring for is someone who takes a working social function and builds it into a proper media vertical for the company.
That starts with new platforms. YouTube is the obvious gap and we have barely touched it, and there is a real audience on Reddit and in the places where people talk about events, sport and sustainability without a brand in the room. We would want you to judge which ones are worth the effort, start them properly, and give them long enough to work.
Further out, there is a podcast in this business waiting to be made. We meet interesting people every week — founders, athletes, sustainability people who are unusually blunt about the industry — and none of those conversations get recorded. Shaping that series is yours if you want it.
The team grows as the work grows. Two people is where we are today rather than where we intend to stay, and hiring into your own team as the remit expands is part of what you would be doing here.
Requirements:
- Strong social/content instincts
Knows what makes people stop, watch, share and remember — and can translate real-world work into platform-native content rather than just posting event recaps. 3-5 years in social media and content is a must for this role.
- Hands-on content creation
Comfortable shooting on a phone, writing scripts and captions, directing/editing video, and getting good content out of imperfect, fast-moving environments. We need someone who can make, not just brief.
- Strategic thinking across multiple audiences
Can build distinct content strategies for five different pages and LinkedIn, understand who each audience is, and know what belongs where. Not someone who treats social as one content calendar copied across platforms.
- Ownership + team leadership
Comfortable setting the direction, running the calendar, briefing/editing a small team, giving clear feedback, and making decisions without needing layers of approval. You need to be both editor-in-chief and player-coach.
- Curiosity and appetite to build
Someone who sees the existing social presence as a starting point, not a finished system — and is excited to experiment with YouTube, Reddit, creator partnerships, podcasts, community and other channels, while being disciplined enough to judge what is actually working.
