Vilas Transcore Limited, having a strong presence in Vadodara since 1996, is engaged in the manufacturing of Transformer Radiators, CRGO Products, and Transformer Components. We are looking for a responsible and experienced EHS Officer to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace across our manufacturing operations.

Qualification Degree / Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent

Experience3–8 years of relevant experience in EHS, preferably in a Manufacturing / Engineering Industryv

Job Summary

The EHS Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Environmental, Health & Safety systems across the manufacturing facility. The role will ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations, environmental requirements, workplace safety standards, and ISO management systems.

The incumbent will be responsible for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, statutory compliance, GPCB liaisoning, electrical safety coordination with PGCL/GETCO, risk assessments, safety audits, employee training, environmental monitoring, emergency preparedness, and EHS documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. ISO System Implementation & Management

- Implement and maintain ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System.

- Implement and maintain ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

- Develop and maintain EHS-related SOPs, manuals, procedures, formats, and documentation.

- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO requirements across departments.

- Conduct internal EHS audits and coordinate external certification and surveillance audits.

- Identify non-conformities and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.

- Drive continual improvement of the organization's EHS management systems.

- Support Management Review Meetings and maintain required records.

2. Regulatory Approvals & GPCB Liaisoning

- Coordinate with the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) for environmental approvals and compliance.

- Manage applications and documentation related to:

- Consent to Establish (CTE)

- Consent to Operate (CTO)

- Environmental compliance requirements

- Hazardous waste authorization and related approvals

- Ensure compliance with applicable requirements related to air emissions, water/effluent, waste management, and hazardous waste.

- Maintain environmental records and statutory documentation.

- Prepare and submit periodic compliance reports to regulatory authorities.

- Coordinate regulatory inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.

3. PGCL / GETCO & Electrical Safety Coordination

- Coordinate with Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO)



and other concerned authorities for power-related approvals and requirements.

- Handle documentation related to electrical load sanctions, substation approvals, and safety clearances.

- Coordinate with electrical teams and authorized agencies for statutory inspections.

- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements.

- Maintain records related to electrical safety inspections, approvals, and compliance.

4. Safety Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance with applicable provisions of the Factories Act, 1948, Gujarat Factory Rules, and other relevant safety regulations.

- Conduct workplace Risk Assessments, HAZOP studies, Safety Audits, and inspections.

- Identify hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.

- Implement safety procedures, work permit systems, and PPE requirements.

- Monitor compliance with safety procedures across production and other operational areas.

- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Maintain safety records, logs, registers, and statutory documentation.

- Monitor machine safety, fire safety, chemical handling, electrical safety, and emergency preparedness.

5. EHS Training & Awareness

- Conduct regular EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and workers.

- Provide induction training to new employees and contract workers.

- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.

- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

- Organize safety campaigns and awareness programs.

- Plan and conduct mock drills for fire, evacuation, emergency response, and other potential emergencies.

- Maintain records of EHS training and participation.

6. Environmental Management

- Monitor environmental parameters including emissions, effluents, and waste generation.

- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and approved procedures.

- Coordinate with authorized vendors for waste disposal, recycling, and treatment.

- Maintain waste disposal records, manifests, certificates, and related documentation.

- Support initiatives for reduction of waste, resource consumption, and environmental impact.

- Monitor environmental housekeeping and compliance within the plant.

7. Emergency Preparedness & Response





- Develop and maintain emergency response procedures and plans.

- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities across the plant.

- Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting and emergency response equipment.

- Conduct periodic fire and emergency mock drills.

- Review drill performance and implement improvement actions.

- Coordinate with emergency services and relevant authorities whenever required.

8. Documentation, Reporting & Compliance

- Maintain all statutory, environmental, safety, and ISO-related documentation.

- Prepare EHS reports, inspection reports, audit reports, and management review inputs.

- Maintain statutory registers and compliance records.

- Prepare and submit periodic compliance reports to regulatory authorities within prescribed timelines.

- Track statutory compliance calendars and ensure timely completion of all requirements.

- Maintain records of incidents, training, audits, inspections, waste disposal, environmental monitoring, and corrective actions.

- Present EHS performance and compliance status to Management.

Desired Skills & Competencies

- Solid knowledge of EHS management systems and statutory compliance.

- Practical experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

- Good knowledge of Factories Act, Gujarat Factory Rules, and workplace safety requirements.

- Experience in GPCB approvals, CTE, CTO, hazardous waste, and environmental compliance.

- Knowledge of electrical safety and coordination govt authorities.

- Experience in Risk Assessment, HAZOP, Safety Audits, Incident Investigation, and CAPA.

- Strong knowledge of PPE, Work Permit Systems, Fire Safety, Emergency Response, and 5S.

- Good documentation, reporting, and audit coordination skills.

- Strong communication and employee-training abilities.

- Ability to coordinate effectively with regulatory authorities, contractors, vendors, and internal departments.

- Proficiency in MS Office and EHS documentation systems.
