Supervisor – Railway Operations & Safety
Qualification & Experience
- Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in SSE (Senior Section Engineer) or equivalent grade and above in the Civil/Electrical Engineering Department of Indian Railways; and/or
- Candidates with experience as SM (Station Master) / TI (Traffic Inspector) or equivalent grade and above in the Operating Department of Indian Railways.
- Candidates with relevant experience in Railway Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Field Supervision will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise railway operations and ensure compliance with applicable railway safety rules, procedures, and operating standards.
- Monitor railway engineering and operational activities to ensure safe and effective execution.
- Conduct regular inspections of railway infrastructure and operational areas.
- Identify safety hazards, operational risks, and non-compliances and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Coordinate with railway engineering, operating, maintenance, and project teams on safety and operational matters.
- Ensure compliance with approved railway procedures, instructions, and safety protocols.
- Monitor safe working practices during railway construction, maintenance, and operational activities.
- Support investigation and reporting of incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety-related observations.
- Maintain records of inspections, safety observations, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Conduct safety briefings and awareness sessions for personnel involved in railway activities.
- Coordinate with Railway Authorities and other stakeholders during inspections, audits, and operational activities.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports related to railway operations, safety, inspections, and compliance.
- Ensure immediate escalation of critical safety and operational issues to the concerned authority.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Indian Railway operating and safety procedures.
- Practical knowledge of railway engineering and/or operating department activities.
- Good knowledge of railway safety practices, inspection procedures, and risk identification.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Good leadership and site supervision capabilities.
- Ability to work in field/site environments and handle operational situations effectively.
- Willingness to work at railway project locations and as per operational requirements.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Retired/Ex-Railway personnel with experience as SSE or equivalent and above (Civil/Electrical) or SM/TI or equivalent and above (Operating Department) are encouraged to apply.
