Overview:As a Visual Arts Teacher , you will be responsible for fostering a creative and engaging learning environment for students of the IB curriculum. You will develop and deliver a visual arts curriculum that supports the philosophy and promotes the holistic development of students.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Development and Implementation:- Design and implement a comprehensive visual arts curriculum aligned with the IB framework.- Develop lesson plans that incorporate inquiry-based learning, focusing on conceptual understanding and student agency.- Integrate visual arts with other subjects through interdisciplinary units of inquiry.Instruction and Facilitation:- Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and tools to facilitate artistic expression and creativity.- Encourage students to explore different mediums and techniques in visual arts.Assessment and Reporting:- Assess student progress and provide timely,



constructive feedback.- Maintain accurate records of student achievements and prepare reports in line with IB requirements.- Conduct student-led conferences and contribute to the development of student portfolios.Professional Development:- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with IB practices and visual arts education.- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school's professional learning community.Community Engagement:- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.- Organize and participate in school events, exhibitions, and other community-building activities.- Advocate for the visual arts within the school and broader community.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).- Teaching certification or credential in visual arts education.- Solid understanding of the IB philosophy and curriculum.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
