Reporting To: Quality Manager / Quality Head 1. Job Purpose To ensure quality compliance of DG sets and their components, control manufacturing processes, maintain quality documentation, implement quality systems, and support continuous improvement to achieve customer and statutory requirements. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Quality Control – DG Manufacturing Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspection of DG sets and components. Inspection of engine, alternator, control panel, radiator, fuel tank, base frame, canopy, exhaust system, battery, cables and electrical components. Ensure products are manufactured as per approved drawings, specifications, BOM and customer requirements. Monitor critical dimensions and parameters during fabrication, assembly and testing. Conduct first-piece, stage and final inspection. Ensure proper calibration and availability of inspection and testing equipment. B. Process Quality Prepare and maintain Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan and Inspection Standards. Conduct process audits. Monitor quality rejection, rework, customer complaints and process defects. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, etc. Implement and monitor CAPA / Corrective & Preventive Actions. Drive Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement activities. C. Customer Quality / Complaint Handling Handle customer complaints related to DG sets and components. Lead 8D problem-solving activities. Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchase and Service teams for complaint resolution.
Prepare RCA and corrective action reports. Track effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. 2. Quality Documentation Responsibilities The candidate will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and controlling quality-related documentation, including: Quality System Documents Quality Manual support Quality Procedures Work Instructions (WI) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Inspection Standards Check Sheets Formats and Records Manufacturing Quality Documents Process Flow Diagram PFMEA Control Plan Inspection Plan Process Parameters First Piece Inspection Report In-Process Inspection Report Final Inspection Report DG Testing Reports Pre-Dispatch Inspection Reports Calibration Records Traceability Records Corrective Action Documentation NCR / Non-Conformance Reports CAPA Reports 8D Reports RCA Reports Rejection Analysis Customer Complaint Reports Supplier Corrective Action Reports 3. Documentation Control Maintain proper revision control of drawings, specifications, SOPs, WIs and quality formats. Ensure only the latest approved documents are available at workstations. Maintain Master List of Documents. Maintain Master List of Records. Control obsolete documents. Maintain quality records as per defined retention periods. Ensure proper document identification, revision number, approval and issue date. Support internal, customer and certification audits by providing required records. 4. Audit Responsibilities Support and participate in:
IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 audits Internal Quality Audits Process Audits Product Audits Prepare audit findings and track closure of corrective actions. 5. Required Technical Knowledge PFMEA Control Plan MSA 8D RCA CAPA 5 Why Fishbone Analysis Pareto Analysis Poka-Yoke Kaizen DG-specific knowledge preferred: Preferred: Certification/knowledge in Quality Management, Six Sigma, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, NDT or related quality tools. 6. Desired Skills Good knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint Good documentation and report-writing skills Good communication and coordination skills Ability to read engineering drawings Knowledge of measuring instruments Good understanding of manufacturing processes Ability to work with Production, Engineering, Purchase and Suppliers 7. The candidate will be responsible for incoming, in-process and final quality inspection, DG testing, process quality, supplier quality, customer complaints, RCA/8D, CAPA and quality documentation. Key requirements: IATF 16949/ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 8D, RCA, CAPA, Process Audit, Product Audit, calibration and document control. Experience with engine, alternator, control panel, canopy, radiator, fuel tank, base frame, exhaust system and DG testing will be preferred. Experience: 3–7 years
