Position : Production supervisor

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Supervisor to strengthen our Transformer Radiators manufacturing team.

Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience3–8 years of relevant experience in Transformer Radiator manufacturing, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Welding, or Engineering Manufacturing Industry

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production activities in the Transformer Radiators Manufacturing Unit. The role will ensure that production targets are achieved within the planned schedule while maintaining required quality standards, safety compliance, optimum manpower utilization, and machine efficiency.

The incumbent will coordinate closely with the Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch teams to ensure a smooth and efficient production flow.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution

- Supervise daily production activities as per the approved production plan.

- Ensure production targets are achieved within the scheduled timelines.

- Monitor production processes to minimize downtime and improve productivity.

- Allocate manpower effectively across production lines and workstations.

- Ensure timely completion of work orders.

- Monitor daily production output and report any deviations from the production plan.

- Take corrective actions to improve productivity and meet delivery commitments.

2. Process Supervision

Supervise and monitor manufacturing operations, including:

- Sheet cutting

- Pressing

- Roll forming

- Spot welding

- Seam welding

- CO₂ / MIG / TIG welding

- Assembly

- Hydraulic pressure testing

- Leak testing

- Surface preparation





- Painting

- Final inspection and dispatch preparation

- Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing processes, SOPs, work instructions, and quality requirements.

- Monitor process parameters and identify opportunities for process improvement.

3. Quality Control

- Ensure products comply with customer specifications and internal quality standards.

- Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspections and corrective actions.

- Reduce rejection, rework, and scrap through effective process monitoring.

- Identify production and quality issues and take immediate corrective action.

- Ensure proper maintenance of production and quality-related records and documentation.

4. Manpower Management

- Supervise operators, welders, fitters, helpers, and contract workers.

- Ensure optimum utilization and proper deployment of manpower.

- Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with company policies.

- Train new employees on production processes, work methods, quality requirements, and safety practices.

- Monitor employee performance and recommend training and skill-development initiatives.

- Ensure smooth shift handover and effective communication between teams.

5. Machine & Equipment Management

- Monitor machine performance and equipment utilization.

- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for machine breakdowns and repairs.

- Minimize production losses caused by equipment failures.

- Ensure proper and protected use of machinery, tools, and production equipment.

Safety & Housekeeping

- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and PPE requirements.

- Conduct regular safety checks within the production area.

- Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action.

- Maintain 5S, good housekeeping, and a safe working environment.

- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement among team members.

7. Reporting & Coordination

- Prepare and maintain daily production reports.

- Monitor production targets, manpower utilization, rejection, rework, downtime, and productivity.

- Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch departments.

- Escalate critical production issues to the Production Manager in a timely manner.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Desired Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Fabrication and Transformer Radiator Manufacturing.

- Hands-on experience in welding, pressing, roll forming, assembly, and testing processes.

- Good leadership and manpower-handling skills.

- Ability to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.

- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement will be an added advantage.

- Good communication and interdepartmental coordination skills.
