Position Summary
The Assistant Manager/Manager – Housekeeping is responsible for leading the Housekeeping Department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and presentation across all guest-facing and back-of-house areas. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional member and guest experience while maintaining operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, cost control, and effective people management.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and supervise all housekeeping operations on a daily basis.
- Ensure impeccable cleanliness and upkeep of all public areas, washrooms, offices, wellness areas, gym, spa, restaurants, lounges, all open spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Ensure all areas are maintained in accordance with luxury hospitality standards.
- Coordinate with Engineering for preventive maintenance and timely rectification of defects.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop the housekeeping team.
- Prepare duty rosters, shift schedules, and manpower deployment.
- Monitor employee productivity and performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.
Quality & Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and cleanliness inspections.
- Monitor pest control and deep-cleaning schedules.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor inventory of linen, uniforms, guest supplies, amenities, and cleaning materials.
- Ensure optimum utilization of resources to minimize wastage.
- Maintain stock levels and coordinate timely procurement.
- Prepare departmental budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Implement cost-control initiatives without compromising quality.
Vendor & Asset Management
- Supervise outsourced housekeeping staff and vendor performance.
- Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of housekeeping equipment.
- Maintain records of departmental assets and ensure preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate annual stock verification and asset audits.
Guest & Member Experience
- Address members and guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure service recovery is completed effectively.
- Continuously enhance housekeeping standards to exceed member expectations.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain departmental SOPs and ensure adherence.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Ensure statutory and company policy compliance.
- Maintain housekeeping records, inspection reports, attendance, and training documentation.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, Spa, Gym, and Facility teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Support special events, VIP visits, and management requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
- Additional certification in Housekeeping Operations or Facility Management is preferred.
Experience
- 8–12 years of housekeeping experience in luxury hotels, premium clubs, or hospitality organizations.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience handling large teams and outsourced manpower is preferred.
