Finance Manager
Location: Bengaluru Experience: 2-5 Years (Post-Qualification) Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) - Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to manage financial operations, statutory compliance, and project accounting. This role involves working on government-funded and innovation-driven projects under IDEX, requiring strong financial governance, reporting, and compliance expertise.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (IND AS / GAAP).
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.
- Review general ledger, trial balances, and reconciliations.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements (if applicable).
- Monitor and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and policies.
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions.
- Taxation (Direct & Indirect)
- Manage all aspects of direct taxation including income tax filings, advance tax, TDS compliance, and assessments.
- Oversee indirect taxation including GST compliance, filings, reconciliations, and audits.
- Liaise with tax authorities and handle notices, assessments, and litigation.
- Ensure tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and ensure organizational compliance.
- Audit & Compliance
- Lead statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, regulatory requirements, and other statutory obligations.
- Develop and strengthen internal control systems and risk mitigation processes.
- Prepare audit schedules, reports, and management responses.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;)
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity management.
- Analyze cost structures and recommend cost optimization initiatives.
- Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and fund utilization.
- Monitor daily cash flows and ensure optimal liquidity.
- Oversee investments, borrowings, and interest management.
- Ensure effective working capital management.
- Regulatory & Legal Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including ROC filings, FEMA regulations (if applicable), and other legal obligations.
- Maintain updated knowledge of financial regulations and corporate laws.
- Liaise with legal advisors, consultants, and government authorities.
- Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.
- Drive implementation of ERP systems or financial tools (if required).
- Enhance efficiency through automation and digitization initiatives.
- Establish SOPs for all finance-related activities.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance and accounts team.
- Allocate responsibilities and ensure performance management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, HR, procurement).
- Present financial reports and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support business units with financial guidance and decision-making.
- Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Strengthen internal audit mechanisms and compliance checks.
- Ensure fraud prevention measures and financial integrity.
- Strategic Contribution
- Participate in strategic planning and business expansion initiatives.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, mergers, or acquisitions (if applicable).
- Provide financial insights for long-term business growth.
IDEX Project Financial Management
- Manage project-wise accounting for IDEX grants, including setting up cost centers, tracking fund inflows, expenses, and unutilized balances.
- Ensure compliance with IDEX guidelines by classifying and booking only eligible expenditures (R&D;, prototyping, manpower, etc.).
- Monitor milestone-based fund utilization and align financial reporting with tranche disbursements and project progress.
- Maintain robust documentation and audit trail (invoices, agreements, payroll records, approvals) to support grant usage and audits.
- Prepare and coordinate Utilisation Certificates (UCs), including statement of expenditure, CA certification, and reconciliation of unspent funds.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory
- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience as a Chartered Accountant
- Experience in a mid-sized or established company preferred
