About the role

Betterway is looking for an experienced seasoned professional to take ownership of the operational discipline, compliance, and day-to-day functioning of our centres.

At Betterway, our centre operations are supported by defined SOPs, audit mechanisms, tech-enabled inventory systems, compliance tracking, and performance frameworks. The Operations Associate will be responsible for ensuring that these systems are followed consistently on the ground.

Someone who is comfortable taking charge of a situation, inspecting what is actually happening on the ground, and manage the team responsible for centre administrations and audits.

The aim is to build a disciplined, dependable operational backbone for our centre. This goal will be accomplished through the execution of the roles and responsibilities outlined below:

Centre Administration & Facilities

- Own the day-to-day operational readiness of the centre facility, housekeeping, security, maintenance, utilities, equipment and administrative requirements.
- Conduct regular physical inspections, identify gaps, coordinate resolution and ensure the centre remains ready for patients and staff at all times.
- Own centre-level manpower planning and roster management across doctors, technicians and facility/support staff.
- Monitor attendance, deployment and adherence to defined operating standards.
- Drive compliance through Betterway's existing SOPs, checklists, audits and points-based compliance system for technicians and staff, ensuring deviations are recorded, corrected and closed.

Inventory & Supply Control

- Own medicines, consumables and other centre inventory.
- Use Betterway's inventory and medicine-ordering systems to monitor stock levels, identify requirements, raise orders on time and ensure adequate delivery.
- Track orders through fulfilment, verify receipts and proactively prevent stock-outs, excess stock and discrepancies.

Vendor Management

- Manage centre-level vendors across housekeeping, security, maintenance, pest control and other services.
- Monitor service quality,

timelines and adherence to agreed standards.
- Drive issue resolution and evaluate opportunities to improve service quality or reduce cost by discovering new vendors and drive connections.

Operations & Escalation Control

- Be the first point of operational ownership when something goes wrong on the ground.
- Handle manpower gaps, facility issues, patient-flow disruptions, inventory problems, vendor failures and other operational escalations.
- Assess the situation, coordinate the right teams, resolve the issue and ensure recurring problems are addressed at the root.

Financial Discipline and Control

- Own centre-level petty cash and operational spends.
- Verify expenses, bills and supporting documents, maintain accurate records and monitor recurring costs.
- Identify unnecessary or abnormal spends, flag leakages and actively look for opportunities to reduce cost without compromising patient experience or centre standards.

Operational Reporting & Action Closure

- Maintain clear visibility of centre operations for the Centre Head and Operations leadership.
- Track compliance, inventory, facility issues, vendor performance, spends, incidents and pending actions.
- Ensure issues move from identification ownership action closure, rather than remaining open through repeated follow-ups.

What we desire?

- Ex-Servicemen/ retired JCO or retired army qualified, preferably with experience in administration, logistics, personnel management, stores, facilities or unit operations.
- Strong experience in managing people, resources and multiple operational workstreams simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in inspection, discipline, compliance and maintaining operating standards.
- Strong ownership and decision-making ability in on-ground situations.
- Experience managing vendors, facilities, inventory or administrative operations is an advantage.
- Comfortable working with checklists, reports, spreadsheets and digital systems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with doctors, technicians, support staff and external vendors.
- Willingness to work in a hands-on, patient-facing healthcare environment.
